A Handful of Dust - An Original Poem

(Edited)

Do you even know me?
Do you think
really think that
we are mates?
Like two elephants
placed side by side
That's how fat
my bank accounts are!
Have you seen
seen my fleet of cars?
Black. Red. Green
Blue. Yellow. Gold. Sliver.
You just name it
I lord over a garage of rainbows!
We are not mates!
I've seen the world
And gently and slowly
Has the world rocked
me to sleep in peerless comfort.
We're not mates!
You hear me?
I know you,
I know you very well
We're mates
You're a hanful of dust!
At six feet down below
You and me are equals:
For all men
All ambitions and glory
are merely a handful of dust
