¡Hola gente creativa! Saludos a todos. Continúo practicando con la técnica de la acuarela y en esta oportunidad quise probar algo diferente así que elegí la figura humana, en este caso, la femenina. Me llamó mucho la atención una foto que vi en una revista de moda y decidí pintarla, la usé como referencia aunque cambié algunos elementos de la misma. Es una imagen dinámica, divertida y a la vez sensual y me gustó porque tiene una estilo minimalista, es solo la modelo en un fondo neutro. Bueno, aquí vamos.

Hello creative people! Greetings to all. I continue practicing with the watercolor technique and this time I wanted to try something different so I chose the human figure, in this case, the female figure. I was looking some fashion magazines and a photo that I saw caught my attention so I decided to paint it, I used it as a reference although I changed some elements of it. It´s a dynamic, fun and at the same time sensual image and I liked it because it has a minimalist style, it´s just the model on a neutral background. Well, here we go.

Utilicé acuarelas, pinceles de diferente grosor, lápiz, borra y cartulina blanca normal. Lo primero que hice fue pintar el fondo, cambié el fondo blanco de la foto de referencia por uno de color lila y comencé a dibujar con un lápiz la figura de la modelo.

I used watercolors, different thickness brushes, a pencil, an eraser and normal white cardboard. The first thing I did was paint the background, I changed the white background of the reference photo for a lilac one and began to draw the the model´s figure with a pencil.

Una vez lista la figura, pinté de negro el traje de baño o body de la modelo y los zapatos. También empecé a pintar sus piernas.

Once I draw the figure, I painted the model's swimsuit and shoes black. I also started painting her legs.

Seguidamente, pinté los brazos, el cabello con un tono amarillo intenso y con marrón y negro pinté algunas de las sombras para definir el cuello y la mandíbula. En vez de dibujar todo el rostro, quise hacer algo diferente así que cubrí la mitad de la cara con el cabello para que solo destacase la boca.

Next, I painted the arms, the hair with a deep yellow tone and with brown and black I painted some of the shadows to define the neck and jaw. Instead of drawing the whole face, I wanted to do something different so I covered half of the face with the hair so that only the mouth would stand out.

Con un amarillo más claro y brillante, le di luces al cabello y usé marrón para darle un poquito de contraste.

Using a lighter, brighter yellow, I highlighted the hair and used brown for a bit of contrast.

Ahora faltaban algunos detalles más de sombras y luces, con negro, marqué la sombra entre los brazos, en la mano y entre el cabello y los brazos, también le di un toque de luz y sombra a las piernas.

Now some more details of shadows and lights were missing, with black, I marked the shadow between the arms, in the hand and between the hair and the arms, I also gave a touch of light and shadow to the legs.

Pinté los labios con tono frambuesa, los dientes y la piel del rostro, definí las líneas, sombras y luces del cuello y los hombros y con negro le di unas pinceladas al cabello para hacerlo lucir más natural. Por último, con un tono marrón, marqué el contorno de los brazos y la espalda.

I painted the lips with a raspberry tone, the teeth and the skin of the face, I defined the lines, shadows and lights of the neck and shoulders and with black I gave a few brushstrokes to the hair to make it look more natural. Finally, with a brown tone, I marked the outline of the arms and the back.

Y este fue el resultado final.

Por aquí algunos experimentos que hice con los filtros de la cámara de mi celular para divertirme y darle unos toques diferentes a mi pintura jejeje.

Here are some experiments I did with my cell phone´s camera filters, just to have fun and make something different with my painting hehehe.

Cuando empecé a hacer esta pintura, no estaba muy segura de cómo sería el resultado final pero la verdad es que quedé muy satisfecha, sobretodo con la parte del cuello porque apenas estoy aprendiendo la técnica de cómo usar y mezclar los colores para dar luz y sombra y definir las formas de los objetos, figuras, etc. así que creo que estoy aprendiendo algo y no voy tan mal jajaja.

When I started doing this painting, I wasn't sure what the final result would be like, but the truth is that I was very satisfied, especially with the neck part because I'm just learning the technique of how to use and mix colors to give light and shadow and define the shapes of objects, figures, etc. So I guess I'm learning something and I´m not doing too bad hahaha.
