Reto personal de dibujo: gatos 😺. N°1, el gato Vran (crayones óleo pastel) / Personal drawing challenge: cats 😺. No. 1, Vran the cat (oil pastels)

Saludos hivers. Amo a los gatos, me encantan los gatos, y amo dibujar, sin embargo, cuando se trata de dibujar gatos, aún tengo mucho que mejorar para que me queden como yo quiero 😁. Tomando en cuenta todo esto, hoy voy a empezar un reto personal que consistirá en dibujar gatos, por lo menos uno a la semana, ya sea a lápiz, con colores, crayones, acuarela, o como sea jajaja, el objetivo es practicar e ir mejorando. He estado viendo algunos tutoriales sobre diferentes técnicas para dibujar gatos así que las iré aplicando a ver que tal se ajustan a mis habilidades y conocimientos.

Hello hivers. I love cats and I love drawing, however, when it comes to drawing cats, I still have a lot of things to improve to get them looking exactly the way I want 😁. With that in mind, today I’m starting a personal challenge to draw cats, at least one a week, whether in pencil, colored pencils, crayons, watercolor, or whatever else, hahaha, the goal is simply to practice and improve. I’ve been watching tutorials on various techniques for drawing cats, so I’ll be trying them out to see how well they suit my skills and knowledge.

Comencé haciendo el boceto con un lápiz, este gatito cobrará vida sobre un block de dibujo y gracias a los crayones de óleo pastel y los lápices de colores.

I started by sketching with a pencil, this little kitten will come to life on a sketchpad, thanks to oil pastels and colored pencils.

Todos hemos visto alguna vez un gato amarillo o anaranjado, pero que también tenga rojo y verde, pues no jejeje. Me gusta usar el círculo cromático así que elegí estos cuatro colores que están entre el verde y el rojo. El amarillo y el verde limón resaltarán las partes claras.

We’ve all seen a yellow or orange cat at some point, but one that also is red and green? Well, no hehehe. I like using the color wheel, so I chose these four colors that are between green and red. The yellow and lime green will highlight the lighter areas.

Seguidamente el anaranjado y el rojo tomaron el protagonismo y le dan un toque vibrante al pelaje de este gato.

Next, orange and red took center stage, adding a vibrant touch to this cat's fur.

Los ojos de los gatos son espectaculares y muy llamativos así que es importante capturar su belleza para lograr trasmitir la expresión de la mirada, en este caso, curiosidad y alegría. Usé dos tonalidades de verde y un poquito de amarillo para los ojos de este gatito, y negro para las pupilas. Como se me terminó la pintura blanca usé un poquito de esmalte de uñas blanco para pintar los puntos de luz en los ojos jejeje 😁.

Cat eyes are spectacular and very striking, so it’s important to capture their beauty to convey the expression in their gaze, in this case, curiosity and joy. I used two shades of green and a touch of yellow for this kitten's eyes, along with black for the pupils. Since I ran out of white paint, I used a little white nail polish to add the highlights in the eyes, hehehe 😁.

Para el fondo, gris y azul celeste, este hace resaltar el color anaranjado ya que es su opuesto. También utilicé azul oscuro para marcar la sombra del gato.

For the background, I used gray and sky blue, these make the orange color stand out since it is its opposite. I also used dark blue to define the cat's shadow.

Con un lápiz rojo fuí haciendo los pelitos del gato en todo el cuerpo y también dibujé sus bigotes.

Using a red pencil, I drew the cat's fur all over his body and also draw his whiskers.

Y con ustedes, el gato Vran, se preguntarán que por qué se llama así, bueno, iba a poner el gato naranja como título pero me pareció muy común 😂 así que tomé la primera letra de cada color que utilicé y listo jejeje, V (verde), R (rojo), A (amarillo) y N (naranja).

And here is Vran the cat. You might be wondering why he has that name, well, I was going to call him "The Orange Cat," but that seemed too common 😂, so I took the first letter in spanish of each color I used and that's it hehehe, V (verde/green), R (rojo/red), A (amarillo/yellow), and N (naranja/orange).
