Everyone knows about the main festivals of India. Let me take you through some interesting festivals of India which you might not be knowing or do not know about its traditional , culture and origin.

Gudi Padwa

The festival originated from Maharashtra , it is known as the starting of a New year , specifically New maharashtrian year .
It is a symbol of brightest Moon phase . Maharashtra Goa are some of the great places where it is celebrated as a main event festival.
The outdoors of the house or any corridor which is visible to the sky and Surroundings , a rod is tied to the place and a utensil (Kalash) is kept above it covered with fabric and garlands. It is a symbol of removing evil eye and bringing prosperity and abundance in our houses.

Akshay Tritiya

In India , today is Akshay tritiya or Akha teej is a Jain and Hindu festival. It is said that it remarks prosperity not only in monetary terms but in other forms such as marriage , new beginning, property etc.
People buy Silver, gold or Tamba coins and utensils on this day according to what they are willing to and can afford.

A festival where Snakes are worshipped. People worship idols of snake made out of silver, wood or any metal . In some villages of India , people also worship live snakes. This was originated of the belief that Lord Brahmas son Gave birth to snakes and whoever worship them are blessed with good health and bonding in their family.

It's is like a religious fair where people gather to worship and witness some amazing folks , spiritual guides and bath in the water of Ganga river as a symbol of purifying their sould and removing Bad deeds of their life. The festival is very famous and we can also see a lot of saints all over India who arrive there , some of them have coiled hair and covered in Bhasm (a kind of powder ).

It is a famous festival originated from Puri,India.
The festival is done to worship the three Gods who is a part of Krishna . It is said that the heart of Krishna still beats inside the Idol. The idol is taken on the Rath(four wheel cart) and roamed around the city with people gathering around it and roaming round the city . It is done in various parts of India , specially West Bengal and Assam.
It is a festival of much adorance and joy , people enjoy the festival a lot.

India has a wide range of culture , traditions and customs . It is a colorful country where every custom and religion is respected . I hope you enjoyed reading about India’s culture.Do let me know your views on it !

I would be so lucky if I could visit India it’s on the wish list.
