Hola amigos de liketu!!! 🥰🩵

Hi, liketu friends!!! 🥰🩵

Today I want to tell you about when I used to work at a Chinese store. Obviously, it was run by Chinese people. The store sold piñatas, lollipop holders, little cups, mugs, trinkets, candy, and all those little things for kids’ parties. They also sold personal hygiene products and cosmetics. My job was to serve customers, make sales, and basically make sure nobody walked out with anything they didn’t pay for, because there are plenty of people with bad habits in Cumaná. Honestly, I liked the job partly because, first of all, I was making money; I was working with someone I care about and love very much; and I was helping my mom out—especially since the situation here in Venezuela has gotten worse again 😕. So that’s why I liked the job. It was bearable because I had someone to keep me company—the worst kind of coworkers—gossipy, nosy, brown-nosers, and envious—are right here in this store ☺️, and I’m sorry to say that’s just how it was.

Otherwise, everything was fine—the pay was relatively good, and dealing with the Chinese owners was better with the wife because the husband would send his yes-men to do the dirty work 😅. Another thing I want to mention is that the hours were from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and for the most part I was on my feet all day—they didn’t give you a chance to sit down because either they’d talk trash about you or call you lazy (the people I worked with), or a customer would come in and I’d have to help them. It was really grueling, and I even ended up with some lingering effects because I was constantly putting all my weight on one foot or one leg. I wouldn’t recommend this kind of job to anyone unless they’re looking for quick cash—though the upside is that you got paid weekly, had one day off per week, and worked Sundays on a rotating schedule. So, well, I hope I never have to work at another Chinese restaurant for the rest of my life and that, with God’s help, I can start something of my own.
