BATTLE MAGE SECRETS Weekly Challenge! - Healed Out Ruleset

Hi Guys! In this post we are exploring on another Splinterlands ruleset. The ruleset we are focusing on is Healed Out.

Healed Out

In a Healed Out ruleset, all healing abilities are removed regardless of whether it is units' abilities or summoner's abilities. What is means are abilities like Heal, Tank Heal, and Triage will not work at all in this ruleset.

In most cases it is not a good idea to put in healing units when fighting in this ruleset unless the healing units have other useful abilities.


Now lets take a look at a Modern Silver ranked match with Healed Out as one of the ruleset. The battle restrictions for this battle are:
Healed Out and Noxious Fumes with a max mana of 47. Only Fire, Earth, Life and Death splinters are allowed in this battle. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

Tarsa4SummonerNormal this would be an easy decision for me as I would almost always chose Tarsa for Noxious Fumes battle. But what I didn't realize was my rented level 4 Tarsa had been returned to the owner and I instead now only has my own level 2 Tarsa and a rented level 4 Thaddius Brood. Thaddius is a good summoner to use in a Healed Out match but this match also has Noxious Fumes and Fire flat out has a better lineup in a Noxious Fumes ruleset. In the end I went ahead and use a the level 2 Tarsa.
Grum Flameblade111stThis is my main tank. Grum Flameblade has good armor and health and at level 2 would also have Void. Unfortunately my summoner is only level 2 and couldn't activate its Void in this fight.
Venari Marksrat32ndWith Noxious Fumes and Healed Out, there was no way of me healing my tank or backline. Instead I would sacrifice Venari Marksrat which has Martyr ability and would boost its surrounding unit with additional health and stats when it died. It would also die quick as this is a Noxious Fumes ruleset.
Forgotten One93rdThe main reason why I went with Fire is Forgotten One. Its Immunity ability would means Noxious Fumes has no effect on it. I would also further boost it up by surround it with units with Martyr ability.
Firecaller54thAnother unit with Martyr ability. This is to boost my Forgotten One further when it died.
Scavo Chemist24thMy cheap cleansing unit. Another reason why I went with Fire as Fire has a unit that can cleansed poisoned front unit. I need it to help cleanse my Grum Flameblade of poison so Grum can last longer.
Arkemis the Bear124thI was torn between using Arkemis or another range or magic unit. In the end I went with Arkemis as I wanted additional armor for Grum. Also Arkemis has a high health and hopefully would last a while.
Total Mana:46

Opponent Lineup:

My opponent went with a Death splinter lineup with Thaddius as the summoner. Thank goodness my opponent summoner level is also level 2 only so now we can see whether is Fire or Death better in these 2 rulesets.

End of Round 1:

Although both of our tank were about the same in armor and health, after the end of round 1 my tank clearly was better off than that of my opponent. Not only was my tank's poisoned status removed, my tank also has more health remaining.

End of Round 2:

My opponent has lost 2 units in the 2nd round alone, the tank and the back unit. Meanwhile my Grum was still able to hold the fort with 8 health remaining. However next round I would lost 3 units alone to poison because they had under 3 health remaining. Do watch how Martyr work in the next round.

End of Round 3:

My 2 Martyr units died and boosted their neighbouring surviving units! Furthermore my Grum killed an opponent unit and gained even more stats from the Bloodlust ability. The battle was over at this point. The remaining opponent's units have too little health to live pass more than 2 round with the exception of Riftwing which has no attack while my Grum now had even more health and attack than the previous round.

End of Round 4:

Although the enemy Riftwing managed to dodge my attack this turn, it doesn't matter as poison would also eventually killed off the unit. Meanwhile both of my units are free of poison.

End of Round 5:

So my tank survived through the entire battle via the use of Martyr and its own Bloodlust ability and also the removal of poison via Cleanse. Big WIN for the Fire Team!

KEY STRATEGY
My strategy for this battle was simply to outlast my opponent in a Noxious Fumes and Healed Out ruleset environment. This is done via Martyr and Bloodlust as no healing is allowed in this match.

SUMMARY
Although no healing is allowed in a Healed Out ruleset, there are other ways to recover health. One way is through Martyr ability, while other abilities like Life Leech and Scavenger are also useful in recovering some health points.

Death splinter is actually quite a good splinter to use in Healed Out situation as it has a lot of Life Leech units. But you still need to see if there are other rulesets involved too before deciding on which splinter to use. Like in my case where there is also Noxious Fumes so I go with Fire instead of Death.
