Cursed Windeku is a 6 Mana Rare unit from the Death splinter. Below is its full stats from Level 1 to 8.

stats.jpg

At level 1, it has a speed of 3 with 2 melee attack and 9 health points. It also has the Thorns ability allowing her to do additional damage to enemies that hit it with melee.

By the time it reached level 5, it will gain another ability, Heal. Heal will restores a portion of Cursed Windeku's health each round.

At its max level, level 8, Cursed Windeku will have 4 melee damage, 3 speed, 11 health and gain the final ability Slow. Slow will reduce the speed of all enemy units.

Next lets take a look at how Cursed Windeku will perform in the various rulesets:

Finally lets take a look at a Modern ranked match I had using Cursed Windeku as one of the unit in the setup. The battle restrictions are:
Melee Mayhem with a max mana limit of 38. The Video for the Full Battle can be seen here:

TEAM SETUP:

SplinterMana CostPositionReason
Thaddius Brood4SummonerThis was a Melee Mayhem match so I expected to face opposing melee units quite a bit. I could chose fire and use Tarsa for +1 melee or Thaddius for -1 magic just in case opponent decided to dump magic attack instead. In the end I decided to go with Thaddius.
Harklaw81stWith Thaddius as summoner, I have less worry of big magic attacks and decided to put Harklaw as my main tank as it has Shield. Shield will reduce incoming melee and range attacks. So now my tank will face reduced magic, melee and ranged attacks.
Carrion Shade12ndCarrion Shade is a filler. It also has 1 melee attack which will benefit from the Melee Mayhem ruleset.
Arkemis the Bear123rdI used Arkemis the Bear in my lineup to weaken enemy attacks and also to shield up all my units with 2 armors. Note I am expecting to face melee units so armor is important.
Disintegrator74thDisintegrator will farther reduce opponent melee units' attack.
Cursed Windeku65thPlaced Cursed Windeku at my last position as a back tank. If opponent melee sneak units would to hit Cursed Windeku, they will get hit by its Thorns ability.
Total Mana:38

Battle Lineup:

lineup.jpg

My opponent went with Water splinter using units with Inspire and Demoralize and a few melee sneak units. To be frank I was expected my opponent to use Fire splinter but Water is very powerful as well as it comes with +1 speed and +1 armor. Let see how my Cursed Windeku performed in this fight.

End of Round 1:

End of Round 1.jpg

Both my front and back tanks held up quite well. The opponent's sneak units had lost their shield to Cursed Windeku's Thorns and will be killed in the next round when they tried to attack my Cursed Windeku again.

Arkemis also did very well in the match providing Shield and halving opponent's tank attack.

End of Round 2:

End of Round 2.jpg

RNG God wasn't on my side this round as I missed a few times trying to hit the opponent DiemonShark. But I don't need RNG to take out all the opponent sneak units as they all died to my Cursed Windeku's Thorns ability.

End of Round 3:

End of Round 3.jpg

So my tank managed to outlast the opponent DiemonShark. Finally got it removed after missing a tons of attack.

End of Round 4:

End of Round 4.jpg

I lost my Harklaw and Carrion Shade in this round. This looked like a very close fight. RNG was really not on my side, Now I can only hope Arkemis the bear can held on.

End of round 5:

End of Round 5.jpg

It shouldn't be this close. Now I am having difficulty hitting the opponent's Flying Squid. It was really frustrating when RNG was so against you. 9 out of 10 attacks I should have hit the Flying Squid with my Cursed Windeku but instead I missed it.

End of Round 6:

End of Round 6.jpg

Cursed Windeku finally killed off the opponent Flying Squid but guessed what? Now Arkemis had to miss a 90% hit chance against the opponent's Demented Shark...

End of Round 7:

End of Round 7.jpg

I lost my Arkemis in this round. I did still have my Cursed Windeku though and believed it will pulled me through. We were both left with just 2 units each at the end of round 7.

End of Round 8:

End of Round 8.jpg

My Cursed Windeku killed off the opponent's Demented Shark and this game was won by me. Cursed Windeku went on to kill off the opponent last unit in round 12.

KEY STRATEGY
My strategy in this match was to kill off enemy sneak units with Thorns while holding the fort with Harklaw's Shield ability and Disintegrator's Demoralize ability. Arkemis and Cursed Windeku would then doubled up as DPS units at the back.

CONCLUSION ON CURSED WINDEKU
Cursed Windeku was the the VIP in this battle. It alone took out 5 out of the 6 enemy units. Without Cursed Windeku I doubt I would even be able to hit the enemy Pelacor Bandit with my crappy luck.

Best positions to put Cursed Windeku are usually the front or last position.
