Lighting choice for bedrooms

The evolution of lighting technology took a giant leap with the advent of Light-Emitting Diode light. This has in turn changed so many things about architectural constructions and the utility of different sections of edifices.

With LED lights, we have got a lighting technology that is not just more energy-efficient and cost-saving than other conventional lighting technology, we have got ourselves longer-lasting, low heat and UV ray emission, cold tolerant lighting bulbs. Our homes are much cooler with the potential to mix up primary colours to generate variable colours of different mixes.

Yes. The RGB LED light bulbs make colour mixing possible. In actual fact, millions of colours can be generated by mixing up the red, green, and blue colours in different proportions. The mixing is done through a smart controller that enables each colour to be dimmed to create different results.

In residential apartments, one of the most important sections is the bedroom. When the word 'bedroom' is mentioned, many people think of it as a place for sleeping and relaxation. However, the modern-day bedroom could offer so much more depending on the designer and the taste of the owner of a building.

For example, many apartments do not have separate closets where clothing apparel, shoes, and their likes are kept and where dressing up is done. Thus, the bedroom doubles up as the dressing room with the dressing mirror on one side.

Many people also use their bedrooms to host visitors, study, or even as a mini office. We live in an era where working from home is becoming more and more desirable. How else do people with a room apartment live anyway?

For someone that is health conscious or wants to maintain an aura of sophistication or even a combination of the two, a single colour light source will never be enough for a multifunctional bedroom.

The effect that light has on our health is a significant one. Our sleep cycle, otherwise known as circadian rhythm is controlled by light. The distruption to the normal night and daylight that a body is acclimatized to is what actually causes jet lag. This shows how important light is to our health.

Daylight, or any other light that mimics it puts us in active moods. They are able to do so by stimulating the secretion of a hormone known as serotonin into our bloodstream.

On the other hand, night or any other light that mimics nighttime puts in a relaxing mood that could induce sleep. They are able to do this by stimulating the secretion of a hormone known as melatonin into our body system.

Now, imagine putting a light that mimics daylight on in your room when you are about to sleep. This has the potential to cause a major disruption to your sleep. Not even so now that inadequate sleep has been linked with all forms of cancer.

Or better still, imagine putting a light that mimics nighttime on in your room when all you need is to stay active while studying. The likelihood that you will find yourself dozing off is very high.

When dressing up for occasions, most women (and even men) like a colour combination that will go with their occasions accordingly. Having the wrong light colour on can deceive you into wearing the wrong colour for occasions.

If you want to host a party in your bedroom or any other place in your room, it is highly probable that you will benefit from using RGB lighting. This will enable one to change the lighting according to the mood of the party. Mixing the music might not just be enough, the light might need mixing as well to have the best experience.

In conclusion, one can hardly go wrong with RGB LED lighting in their bedrooms and even every other part of their apartment. We are talking about cost saving, versatility, beauty, absolute control, and health.

I personally do not like total darkness at night while sleeping. All I need to do is adjust an RGB LED lightbulb to mimic darkness. By doing so, I will not only eat my cake, but still have it. Nothing else can beat that.

I definitely double my bedroom as an office. I usually stay up late at night just like now reading articles and posting comments. 🙂

I only have one source of LED light which I usually turn off around 9pm regardless if I am working on the computer or not. I find it unusual and strange most of the time when I keep the lights on from 10pm onwards.

I never noticed it, but, what do you think? Will the LED light alone from our computer screen be strong enough to disrupt our sleeping cycle/time?

Thanks for sharing.

Sleep doctors recommend we use our bedroom only for sleep and sex. Yeah, good luck with that!
