The Transformative Power Of Education.

The importance of education can't be quantified in the world we live in today and I feel sorry for people who are fond of the slang, "Education na scam" meaning Education is a scam. The slang came into existence in Nigeria because of how being educated doesn't make much difference in the country, especially in the financial aspect.

Graduates could barely get jobs after struggling with school plus ASUU strikes and they assume that Education is overrated. I once felt the same way after my OND but I eventually realized that the majority of us have made crazy expectations all because we are educated. We expect things to be easier which is a blatant joke and things could have been truly easier for us if we think outside the box than believing that being educated is enough.

When discussions like this come up, I always make it clear to people that education doesn't guarantee success but it can clear your path to success or probably bring you the opportunity to become successful.

Education has never been a scam and the only issue we have in third world countries is that our government aren't investing enough in education. Greed has successfully taken their mind off the future of their respective countries and they only care about themselves. Today, people have to struggle financially to get educated and it can be very tiring.

If you all agree with me, the majority of us wouldn't be here if we didn't have any form of education at all. Many authors here share awesome content and many of these wouldn't have been possible without education.

Education has gone beyond just acquiring knowledge and its influence on our lives as a whole is huge. Being educated influences our behaviour, relationships with people and many other things we barely pay attention to just because we are putting our knowledge to use. Before now, I used to live in a big trenches where there were lots of illiterates and it was there I realized that education is crucial.

My journey with acquiring education wasn't pleasant and I wish things were easier. Sometimes I wonder what I would be doing with education because it has exposed me to opportunities that I am benefiting from today.
If my mom wasn't someone who valued education a lot, I might probably not see much importance to it as well when I was younger. She always sang to my ears that I must get educated no matter what and many times, I have envied students who got enough support from their parents to further their education.

At the moment, all I have is an OND and it means a lot to me because I went through a lot to get it. I planned to work a little after OND before I continued my HND but things didn't go as planned for me. Getting a job didn't come easy and by the time it came, it was a time-demanding type. I couldn't combine work and job so I placed education on hold till this moment.

Sometime last year, I discussed with a friend who finished his program at the National Open University and I am considering trying it out since it's flexible or probably a per-time program in an institution in the state where I reside. Furthering my education is basically about bagging a more valuable certificate of course with good grades just like I did with my OND.

I don't have a specific course in mind because I want a flexible and valuable course that's quite relevant in the world today. I really don't have the intention to work with it but who knows what life has in store for me. If I am opportune to get a seven-figure salary, I wouldn't hesitate to jump on it.

One of the lessons I have picked on life about education is that no one should be deprived of it. Whenever I tell my younger ones about my struggles with education, they sometimes think it's an exaggeration because a lot has changed.

Learning doesn't end for me though because I am always open to acquiring knowledge wherever I find myself. Hive is one of the places where I have learned a lot and I am grateful to all members for pouring valuable content on the blockchain.

The value of education cannot be quantified even though people sees it as a scam. It's relevant is great to overlook. For anyone who has the opportunity, studying further will never be a bad idea. Of course you and I wouldn't have been here creating content without being educated

The idea of open university will be fine George... whenever you can, you can go for it

That's the idea, I don't want to do it under pressure like I did back then. Education is truly not a scam because one way or the other, we are all enjoying the value of being educated.

Education is like light, it dispels the darkness of ignorance. I like how you stated that it influences us positively in all spheres of life.

I know about the N.O.U.N program, it's a distance learning program that is flexible for those who are working or busy. You can give it a try.

Have a lovely weekend

Education is necessary and having a good education doesn't guarantee you success, because education is to teach you how to behave with other, how to live in a society and how to deal with different aspect and challenges that comes across you.

Yes, you are right. It doesn't guarantee success but it can guide us to be successful if we use the knowledge we have acquired appropriately.
