When did it become a crime for being a male?

Discrimination of different forms has become a normal thing in the world we live in and I don't trust a lot of people who speak against it anymore. Many of them condemn the act in public but privately, they are the pillars behind discrimination. I don't want to believe that discrimination is a problem that started today, it has been in existence for some time and social media is the reason why we are seeing many cases of it every day.

Before now, people don't have the medium to share their ordeal with the world. They suffer in silence as they deal with both the physical and mental impact of being discrimination victims. Some people were able to get through while it was the end of the road for some humans and many culprits don't still feel remorseful despite the negative impact of their actions.

Discrimination has become something huge to the extent that it now has types whereas, it shouldn't exist initially. In the world we live in today, people discriminate even skin colour forgetting that we are all humans. I read about discrimination cases and wonder how we have lost so much connection with humanity.

A few weeks ago, we saw what happened to the Real Madrid star boy. Vinicius was a victim of discrimination and we saw how things turned out, Balotelli was a victim all through his career and I don't understand the pleasure people derive from hurting a fellow human mentally and emotionally.

Gender discrimination is rampant and I am not surprised about it. It happens every day even though we don't pay attention to it.

People expect big incidents before they attach them to gender discrimination but they fail to know that little things count for gender discrimination. A very long time ago, I and my female friend was waiting for a bike when a vehicle suddenly parked close to us. The man who drove it offered my friend a lift and the moment she mentioned that I was going with her, he drove off.

It wouldn't have cost him anything to give us both a lift and as little as that might sound, he has practised gender discrimination but when you ask that man to speak about gender discrimination, he will definitely condemn it.

I have two huge experiences of gender discrimination and I will share both.

The first one happened in school during a presentation. We had to do a seminar for a particular course and the lecturer took it very seriously. We were allowed to suggest three topics and the lecturer assigned to us would choose one for us to work on.

I am not one of the close students to lecturers and the closest I get to them is during lectures. Running around them to gain favour is not my style and I give my best always to avoid needing their help.

I finally got three topics, went to the lecturer assigned to me to choose one and boom, I started having problems.

That day, I met some female students in his office and two other lecturers, they were chatting about unreasonable stuff. I was standing there waiting for him to attend to me but he didn't even act as if I was there.

I got tired and told him why I was there again, and he ordered me out of his office. I felt embarrassed because I haven't done anything wrong to him, and it was irresponsible of him to neglect his duties because he was talking to some girls.

I waited outside his office hoping that the girls will leave but they didn't. While standing, my girlfriend came to submit her topics as well because he was assigned to her as well qand I told her not to go in because he will insult her but she insisted on going in.

She entered and I moved closer to the door just to hear what would happen in there, you won't believe she was even offered a chair. The man approved a topic and even sent a cleaner to get her a pet drink because she said the sun was too hot.

She came out and was shocked, she even asked me if I am sure the same man chased me out. About two other female students got their topics approved that day but I didn't.

It went on for days and I didn't stop going to his office, he always said that he is busy and the silliest excuse he gave me was that he didn't have a pen. It would interest you to know that this man didn't approve a topic for me until about four days before the presentation. I went through hell to get prepared and it really affected my presentation. I wasn't composed but I just had to do it to get some marks.

Another experience happened while job hunting with a female friend.

We went together to a bank for job opportunities but we were both rejected and suddenly, she became their staff a few weeks after.

She wouldn't say anything about it and I didn't ask. Slowly, she cut off our friendship which is very much understandable. Years passed and I got to know from another friend that according to what our friend said, "the man we met at the bank the other day decided to help her for a reason I don't know".

I had a better result than her and can do the job properly so why wasn't I reconsidered?

I didn't let that bother me and sometimes, when I see a lady competing with me for something. I take my mind off it when a man is in charge because she has higher chances of getting it due to gender discrimination.

It is not a crime to be male or female, it shouldn't be a crime to be black or white, and I believe the world would be fair and better if discrimination can be put aside. The truth remains that it will always be a problem until severe measures are taken to curb the wings of discrimination across the globe.

If I have my way, there will be severe punishment for the culprit of discrimination and only that way can we bring a balance.

Awareness creation is not working because some people enjoy doing these things and the only way to tackle is by creating fear for culprits or people who might want to engage in the act later.

The funny thing about it is that the same people practicing gender discrimination, are the ones preaching about it.
It is not fair that guys have to go through that. For you to get a job you either have to know someone or be rich. I hope this stops someday.

Yes, these people go about saying that discrimination is not good but they are the mastermind behind these things.

If you look closely, the majority of office jobs today have mostly females. Males are found in factories and that's why many of them are opting for freelancing and becoming an entrepreneur.

LoL 😂 we live in a country where female get favored than male
But in some place male too get favored than females I wonder when all that will stop
But the thing is that we all deserve a try no matter what the gender is

I wonder why there is no law binding those people that discriminate

That's true, it is not one sided and it's best when we just ditch the idea of favouring a gender over the other.

Honestly, it is not easy. Too much expectations from everywhere and yet, we aren't having the platform to make all these possible for us easily.

I agree with you, most people who preach about discrimination are the strongest pillar holding it. The world has turned into something else, we say we are one on the lips but in our hearts we can't wait for the slightest opportunity to destroy one another for reasons only those practicing such know.

Women are gold my brother, your post really cracked me up at some points honestly but you are right you better give up when you are competing something with a lady and a man is the one in charge, especially if the lady is pretty 🤣🤣🤣

That lecturer really showed you shege, imagine sending you out for telling him what brought you and offering a female seat and a drink for complaining the sun is hot. We are the ones killing ourselves, people forget that they will not be in certain position forever. Life is turn by turn, one day he will drop from that position, how would he feel if someone did a thing like that unto him?

Glad you scaled through bro, he treated you meanly yet you still passed, it is God. Thank God you didn't retaliate, pains, disappointments, embarrassment will never stick to us forever, it's only for a moment and will it will pass.

You are right bro, those things are temporary and we just have to endure them as we walk our way through.

Gender discrimination has turned a lot of things around in the world and we can just hope people think deeply about it and do away with the act.

The world will be better and surely make more progress without discrimination

Sure, the would would make faster progress if we would be treated equally regardless of gender, race, culture, tongues and so on...

Discrimination of any kind is bad. The situation whereby competency is jettisoned for gender identity, productivity suffers for it. It's not nice at all.

That's right, all sort of discrimination is bad. It's happening every day, gender is favoured when it comes to getting jobs in the world today.

I think this menace is a global issue. There is hardly any society where this is not being experienced. Gender discrimination has rather affected all of mankind's progress in their fields of life.

Now I wish that the world would look beyond and see a better tomorrow by respecting all gender. At least, we were first humans before a male of female.

It has indeed affected all genders, none is exempted and if we can put our differences away, life will better.

Every gender faces one form of discrimination, it's sad the thing is growing big and has deep roots among humans already.

You can imagine the pressure you passed through because of how Ur supervisor neglected you and attended to females rather. This discrimination affects all gender in different ways and I hope it can be put to an end. In most cases, females are considered first before male, I don't know if male should die in suffernESS whereas in some cases, my gender suffer the heat
I hope all these drama comes to an end one day

You are right, every gender is affected one way or the other and it is pointless dragging who is affected most. The best thing is for us to make the amendments needed in the world against discrimination.

That's really so sad.

These are what I will look at and will be like, are these girls fighting for feminism clouded by hate or what Because most of the life's activities are tilted in their favour already

So so sad

Some of them are even ignorant about the chances they have as a female, they just promote this feminism thing blindly.

I can understand what you said. I also think that gender discrimination still exist. Some people think only girls become the victim of gender discrimination which is not fully true. Gender discrimination happen with male also and you are one of it ..

That's true, all gender experience discrimination and its best to tackle discrimination in general than sorting it based on gender. Thanks

Sorry to hear about your experiences of discrimination.

About offering a ride to a stranger. In my eyes there is an issue of security. I have no issue offering a ride to an individual stranger male or female. If they try to assault me and steal my car I can reasonably defend myself against one person. However, if there are two people then I'll lost the fight and lost my care and maybe my life.

It may not be right. I do see the point of someone driving off. Of course, it could be that the driver just wanted to spend time with a beautiful woman or take advantage of a woman in trouble, however, I'll say that it isn't 100% that the person was a bad man.

As for being ignored by the professor when there were attractive women around. That just sucks. Sorry about that. Can't give any defense there.

As for losing out on a job. I've been in the same situation when applying for a job in a hospital Pharmacy. I was short listed along with another attractive lady. I had better grades, better skills, and better resume. She still got the job. However, that doesn't mean I would have been better in the job as she is a good worker. She also needed the job more than I did so I hold no ill wishes towards her.

Just saying I know the feeling and sometimes here is more to it than you can see.

Or maybe the person hiring her was just sexist and wanted someone nice to look at in the office.

Hard to say for certain.
