An afternoon stroll

My son asked for 5 days off from work to rest. After 4 days off we were able to go out one of them since it rained daily and we didn't want to go out so as not to expose ourselves to sudden rain while we were on the street.

So we took a cab today and stayed at a place near the beach. We had not been to the beach for a long time. In this place some years ago we used to come to fish while the younger ones bathed in the sea. In this place that is now closed to the public, you can no longer fish but you can walk and walk in peace because there is a lot of surveillance and I love that.

We continued walking along the paths that surrounded the entire seashore, there were not many people on the beach since it was after 4 p.m. and until this time swimming was allowed. There were some awnings with people still enjoying their afternoon.

Further on we could see the ships that are beached on the closest part of the beach. They are oil tankers that always stay in these parts. All my life I have seen them there, sometimes many ships, sometimes few like today.

On our walk we could see in the sky an airplane flying very close, back and forth with its peculiar sound, marking the airs of the beach.

In the distance above the hill and the buildings, there is an image that my phone camera was able to capture of a paraglider. At the top of that hill, you can often see people paragliding from that height. What a feeling it must be to see people from up there in the sky.

Culminating with our walk we could see the end of the road and this place where Christians venerate the Virgin of the Valley, the patron saint of eastern Venezuela. What a beautiful representation of images.

Already leaving the place you can see the sun as it is saying goodbye to us on this beautiful October afternoon.

This is the end of our walk, my son's and mine. I enjoyed seeing so much beauty after many years without coming here. Now we are going to do some shopping nearby and then we will go home to rest and start tomorrow a happy day after filling our minds, hearts, and lungs with the fragrance of the sea.

Hi @gertu I wonder why that was closed to the public and why you cannot fish anymore?

I do love the sea too as I live on the coast but your water is so much warmer than ours!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend gertu and it is good to see you😁

Hello my dear @tengolotodo, it is a pleasure for me to hear from you and say hello.

Answering your question, that stretch of the beach was closed to the public because of a disastrous event.

Naughty young teenagers were jumping into the water from the rocks, without first finding out what was underneath. While I was fishing I always saw them coming and interrupting my fishing just for their enjoyment and jumping head first or standing into the water.

It was not to my liking because I had to suspend my fishing while they made their dives into the water.

On one fateful day some of them always jumped for fun without first looking at the bottom and when two of them jumped one disappeared and the other one was left with his head embedded between two rocks.
Since then the pass has been closed and you can't fish or dive from there.

Have a great weekend my friend.

Hi gertu. Thanks for telling me the reason why. That is a shame what happened.
