Curcuma Longa.
This is a very special plant for me, ever since I have known of its existence, it has never stopped living in my garden.
Its long slender leaves and soft green color make it one of the plants that I can keep indoors, in a bright sunny environment but giving freshness to my living room.
This plant in late November and early December is pruned, harvested to collect its rhizomes and then cut into pieces to collect several strokes and sow them again.
Then it has a recess period of several months, in March or open begin to sprout germinations of the sown trosses. Each of them will develop a small independent plant.
I will keep only one plant, the others will go to the sale of my plants in the small nursery in my garage.
This plant will grow and multiply and then after about 7 months it will have its beautiful flowers, which I take as a warning for after the bouquet of flowers that remains for more than a month dries up.
After her bouquet of flowers dries I proceed to harvest again to continue the cycle of the plant and this is what I do every year with my Turmeric.
I prepare the rhizomes that I take from it, after sharing it a little with family and friends, by cutting it into small pieces, of about 2 cm, which I put it in the blender together with some oil and the juice of a lemon.
I put it in glass containers that I have previously boiled and I keep them to use it in the course of the year in my meals. Meats, soups and rice acquire a different and succulent flavor and color.
The properties of the use of this rhizome are many: as a tissue regenerator, to lower glycemia in diabetes, to reduce blood pressure in patients with hypertension. To regenerate neurons in patients with Parkinson's disease. In the prevention and treatment of colon cancer, and many more uses.
If you do not know about it yet I invite you to look for it and use it in your kitchen and if you do already use it in your kitchen I congratulate you for that. It’s a plant whose rhizome gives us life.
Thank you for allowing me to come to this Amazing Nature Community to bring my Turmeric plant.

This was so interesting from your cultivation and splitting of the plant, to your creation of that sauce used for cooking. And all from one beautiful plant!
