CineTV Contest: Wendell y Wild

La verdad no soy muy amante de las películas de terror, pero cuando se trata de dibujos animados, allí estoy sentada en primera fila y hace pocos días me llegó la notificación en Netflix del estreno especial de una película animada muy acorde para los días de halloween por lo que no dude en dedicar tiempo para disfrutarla y es que se trata de Wendell y Wild, una historia llena de sentimientos y emociones.

The truth is I'm not much of a horror movie lover, but when it comes to cartoons, I'm sitting in the front row and a few days ago I got the notification on Netflix of the special premiere of an animated film very appropriate for the days of Halloween so I did not hesitate to take the time to enjoy it and it is Wendell and Wild, a story full of feelings and emotions.

Esta historia se basa en una chica que perdió a sus padres en un desafortunado accidente del cual ella piensa que es la culpable, a raíz de ello la jovencita se convierte en una persona llena de odio y rencor lo que la conducen a cometer algunas fechorías por lo que pasa un tiempo en un reformatorio de menores y luego que la llevan a un instituto de chicas el cual es dirigido por monjas y un sacerdote, Kat muy decida no le importa el lugar ni quienes están en él por lo que impone su presencia y sus gustos.

This story is based on a girl who lost her parents in an unfortunate accident of which she thinks she is to blame, as a result the young girl becomes a person full of hatred and resentment which lead her to commit some misdeeds so she spends some time in a reformatory for minors and then she is taken to an institute for girls which is run by nuns and a priest, Kat very decides she does not care about the place or who are in it so she imposes her presence and her tastes.

Estando en el instituto le sale una extraña marca en un de sus manos, pero a todas estas ella no tiene idea de que se trata; es más, ni le importan aun cuando una de las monjas la previene diciéndole que ni le diga a nadie de esa marca. Pero en el instituto conoce a un chico trans de nombre Raúl, quien tiene afinidad al igual que ella por lo gótico, por lo que se convierte en su aliado para traer al mundo de los vivos a Wendell y Wild dos hermanos demonios quienes se encuentran en el infierno, pero que se le presentaron en uno de sus sueños y a través de él llegaron a un acuerdo para poder revivir a sus padres, su sueño más anhelado.

While in high school she gets a strange mark on one of her hands, but she has no idea what it is about; in fact, she doesn't even care about it when one of the nuns warns her, telling her not to tell anyone about it. But in high school she meets a trans boy named Raul, who has an affinity like her for the gothic, so he becomes her ally to bring to the world of the living Wendell and Wild two demon brothers who are in hell, but who were presented to her in one of her dreams and through him they reached an agreement to revive their parents, her most cherished dream.

Wendell y Wild piensan que regresar al mundo de los vivos será cosa fácil, lo que ellos no se imaginan es que se verán metidos en un embrollo que ellos mismos ocasionarán y por ende le causaran muchos problemas; así que tendrán que enfrentarse con el par de chicos góticos y la monja, a partir de allí inicia toda la aventura espantosa llena de personajes realmente desagradables.

Wendell and Wild think that returning to the world of the living will be easy, what they do not imagine is that they will get into a mess that they themselves will cause and therefore will cause many problems, so they will have to deal with the pair of goth kids and the nun, from there begins all the frightening adventure full of really nasty characters.

Esta historia en su animación es muy parecida a la famosa Coraline por sus escenas tenebrosas, inclusive por originales personajes que muestran rasgos característicos, además de esa forma geométrica que usaron para identificarlos, es una manera muy inteligente de hacerlos ver feos, pero al mismo tiempo llamativos que hace que este proyecto de animación sea fascinante aun cuando es tétrico.

This story in its animation is very similar to the famous Coraline for its gloomy scenes, including original characters that show characteristic features, plus that geometric shape they used to identify them, it is a very clever way to make them look ugly, but at the same time striking that makes this animation project is fascinating even when it is gloomy.

En esta película no solo vemos personajes que interpretan a personas, también animales o bichos inmensos y asquerosos propios de hallowen que hacen de cada escena mucho más impactante, además de originales con una mezcla de dramatismo, terror, ficción y realidad, eso sin contar que cuenta con una banda sonora muy acorde, yo diría más bien perfecta para un trabajo realmente impresionante y sincronizado.

In this film we not only see characters playing people, but also huge and disgusting animals or bugs typical of Halloween that make each scene much more shocking, as well as original with a mixture of drama, horror, fiction and reality, not to mention that it has a very consistent soundtrack, I would say rather perfect for a really impressive and synchronized work.

Dicha película puede enganchar a los más pequeños y no precisamente por la apariencia de los tenebrosos personajes, más bien por el toque especial que posee, donde parecen estar todos locos dentro de ese mundo tan irreal, lleno de misterios, muertos vivientes; pero a la vez con ese toque de realidad por el empeño de Kat de revivir a sus padres para poder abrazarlos y demostrarles el amor que siente por ellos.

This film can hook the little ones and not precisely because of the appearance of the dark characters, but rather because of the special touch it has, where they all seem to be crazy in this unreal world, full of mysteries, undead; but at the same time with that touch of reality by Kat's determination to revive her parents to embrace them and show them the love she feels for them.

Esta no es solo una película animada llena circunstancias paranormales, ella contiene un mensaje muy especial que va muy bien para los pequeños de la casa a quien realmente va dirigido el rodaje. Allí vemos como se pone en escena valores como la amistad, lealtad, amor, compromiso y unión; además, muestra que la familia es un vínculo importante para las personas y que por ello se debe cuidar como a un tesoro.

This is not only an animated film full of paranormal circumstances, it contains a very special message that goes very well for the little ones of the house to whom the film is really directed. There we see how values such as friendship, loyalty, love, commitment and union are staged; it also shows that the family is an important bond for people and therefore should be cared for as a treasure.

Debo confesar que al principio, la película me pareció algo exagerada para ser contenido dirigido a niños, pero a medida que pasaba el tiempo, la peli avanzaba, la cosa se ponía más interesante y los personajes a pesar de tener aspectos tenebrosos eran a su vez adorables, lo que creo que es el enganche de la historia.

I must confess that at the beginning, the movie seemed a bit over the top for a content aimed at children, but as time went on, the movie progressed, things got more interesting and the characters despite having scary aspects were at the same time lovable, which I think is the hook of the story.
