Backpack finally // Giving life to my Granny # 6. (Es/En)

Feliz lunes mis amigos creativos, es un gusto poder compartir con ustedes nuevamente, hoy les comparto un proyecto que me llevó más de 14 días poder culminar.

Happy Monday my creative friends, it is a pleasure to share with you again, today I share with you a project that took me more than 14 days to finish.

Durante estas dos semanas he estado tomando tiempo en mis tardes para dedicarme a lo que más me apasiona, como lo es el tejido a crochet, a pesar del corto tiempo libre con el que disponía tomaba parte de este para ir avanzando en mis pequeños cuadros.

During these two weeks I have been taking time in my afternoons to dedicate myself to what I am most passionate about, crochet knitting, despite the short free time I had I took part of it to make progress in my little pictures.

Por lo general cuando tejía, me enfocaba en culminar cada pieza antes de comenzar la siguiente, pero esta vez sentí que debía realizar un cambio, en vez de tejer cada cuadro fui realizando los 9 cuadros que me faltaban vuelta por vuelta y así podía estar al pendiente tanto de la disponibilidad de hilo como de no dejar proyectos a media cuando comenzara a dolerme mis manos.

Usually when I knitted, I focused on finishing each piece before starting the next one, but this time I felt that I had to make a change, instead of knitting each square I knitted the 9 squares that I needed to finish lap by lap and this way I could be aware of both the availability of yarn and not leave projects in the middle when my hands started to hurt.

Así fue como las primeras tarde me dediqué a tejer las dos primeras vueltas alternando entre los colores base de las flores (amarillo y negro); luego para las flores utilicé el color azul, fucsia y amarillo.

So I spent the first few afternoons knitting the first two rows alternating between the base colors of the flowers (yellow and black); then for the flowers I used blue, fuchsia and yellow.

Para la siguiente vuelta contaba con hilo verde acrílico en dos tonos verde claro y el otro oscuro, más presentía que sería suficiente por lo que busqué entre mis demás hilos y conseguí un hilo de algodón con pequeños detalles multicolores, y como era de diferente grosor enrolle una pequeña mota dejando dos hebras para tejer dándole así el mismo grosor del hilo acrílico y así logré alternar los tonos verdes en esta vuelta.

For the next round I had green acrylic yarn in two shades of light green and the other dark, but I felt it would be enough so I searched among my other threads and got a cotton thread with small multicolored details, and as it was of different thickness I wound a small speck leaving two strands to weave thus giving it the same thickness of the acrylic yarn and so I managed to alternate the green tones in this round.

Todo el proceso anterior me llevó casi 7 días y ya solo me quedaban dos vueltas para culminar, para ello me dediqué entre lunes y martes de semana santa que disponía de una poco más de tiempo para tejer, así que entre idas y vueltas logré culminar estas vueltas tal cual al granny inicial, en anaranjado y negro, luego tomé una aguja lanera para unir mis cuadros.

The whole process took me almost 7 days and I only had two rounds left to finish, for this I spent between Monday and Tuesday of Easter week that I had a little more time to knit, so between rounds and rounds I managed to finish these rounds just like the initial granny, in orange and black, then I took a wool needle to join my squares.

Ya terminados mis cuadros procedí a coserlos 4 cuadros para la parte delantera y 6 para la parte trasera y tapa. En el centro de la unión de la parte trasera y tapa comencé a tejer las asas para mi morral en color negro.

Once my squares were finished I proceeded to sew 4 squares for the front and 6 for the back and lid. In the center of the junction of the back and top I began to weave the handles for my black backpack.

Seguí tejiendo las asas alternando los restantes de los hilos que utilicé en mi bolso, hasta obtener el largo deseado. En cada asa dejé una hebra de hilo para coser en las esquinas del bolso, luego en la parte superior tejí 50 cadenetas en ambos extremos para cerrar el borde superior del bolso, a estas cadenetas le coloque algunas cuencas de madera para decorar.

I continued weaving the handles alternating the remaining threads that I used in my bag, until I obtained the desired length. On each handle I left a strand of thread to sew in the corners of the bag, then on the top I wove 50 chains on both ends to close the top edge of the bag, to these chains I placed some wooden bowls to decorate.

Y listo luego de un poco de dedicación, dolor en mis manos y tardes de relajación pude culminar mi pequeño morral, ideal para mis salidas de paseo, es muy gratificante poder ver mi proyecto terminado y sobre todo de poder usarlo y exhibir mi labor, gracias a todos quienes me han apoyado, a quienes me apoya y a quienes me seguirán apoyando, miles de bendiciones para ustedes.
