A happy day to all of you, and a warm welcome to my blog. //

In my desire to advance in this wonderful world of sewing, I found a new challenge "the stretch fabrics ", certainly I have previously used them to make underwear, but for a blouse or straight seam I had never done it, I have seen my friends who work with these fabrics, their work is done directly in overlock machine or collar machine, machines that obviously I do not own, but as I love the challenges I wanted to make a blouse with the leftover fabric I had at home.

I feel that when creating our garments I should not focus on what I don't have but on what I can do with what I do have, that's why I challenged myself to make this blouse knowing beforehand that it would have some difficulty, so already mentally prepared that at some point I could get me with certain challenges that would not affect my mood, so already having my mind in tune with what could happen to me I set out to make my new challenge.

-Tijera y Aguja
-Alfileres, regla curva de costurera.
-Una franela para el patrón.

For this blouse use the following materials:

  • One piece (90 cm) of stretch peach skin fabric.
  • Tape measure and sewing pencil.
  • Scissors and needle
  • Pins, seamstress curved ruler.
  • A flannel for the pattern.

Procedimiento:

Procedure:

  • I folded the fabric in 4 parts and adjusted with pins to prevent it from rolling,
  • then I mounted the flannel that will serve as a pattern on the fabric and with the help of the tape measure and the sewing pencil I marked 4 cm from the ends of the flannel.
  • Then with the help of the curved ruler I marked both parts of the collar.

  • Once I had marked all the ends of the blouse I proceeded to cut it, first I cut the sides,
  • Then I cut the parts of the neck, first the back part, then the front part, then the back part, then the front part.
  • I cut two strips, one of 120 cm by 10 cm for the bottom part of the blouse and one of 90 cm by 5 cm for the neck.

  • I then pinned the shoulders and proceeded to sew to join the shoulder part.

  • Then pin the 5 cm wide strip of fabric folded in the center to the neck and sew around the neck, always taking care to sew the 3 ends of the fabric.

  • Then I sewed a backstitch to the neckline and proceeded to close the sides of the blouse.
  • The bottom part of the blouse is now ready to be sewn.

  • For this lower part I proceeded to join the ends of the strip and folded it in half.
  • I adjusted the strip taking care that the seam was on one side of the blouse seams, then with pins I adjusted in 4 central points.
  • I proceeded to sew both parts, and the blouse is almost ready.

  • I then hemmed each end of the sleeves to finish the blouse.

Challenges
If you can notice in some of the photos the sewing was not very neat, because in this project I found two challenges, first the machine at the beginning did not want to sew the fabric, so I had to make several changes of ajuga, second these weeks the electricity has played us dirty, secondly** these weeks the electricity has played dirty with us, because they are rationing energy without notice and this implies that the work had to be done in several parts and for that I had not prepared myself and third my pulse to keep the seam straight, unlike common fabrics, this fabric slides a lot and that made me not be able to control the straightness of the seam, now if anyone (a) has a tips for sewing this type of fabric in homemade straight machines I would appreciate it with all my heart.

Despite all the challenges I feel that the blouse among all the bad things I did, at least I liked it, I hope you can appreciate the effort, because it is my first blouse in this type of fabric and I hope to improve and learn a better technique for it.
