Macroeconomic data says a lot about where we live - Los datos macroeconómicos dicen mucho sobre donde vivimos

This is going to be a personal article, where I want to vent a little about the macroeconomic data that I saw about my country of birth, and that represent something very painful for what it means and I see that many people may be living, because although I did not know the hard data, if I knew from many experiences that the situation was bad, so this is an article talking about a little politics, but associated with some analysis for our decisions about the countries where we want to invest.
Last week I was able to see the public release of the results of a survey of the university where I graduated as a psychology graduate in Venezuela, and the reason why this survey is so important is because it refers to one of the few ways that exist in the country to obtain reliable objective data, since you can not trust what politicians say in Venezuela, being that some try to give worse data and others try to give data that say that the situation is better.
It is unfortunate what your could obtain with this survey, since it refers that the situation is much worse than what was thought before, and what was known with the survey called ENCOVI (Survey of living conditions) and that comes out every year, is that in 2019 there was 90% poverty in the country, but the survey with the results of 2020 gave 94% poverty and 67% extreme poverty.
At the same time I could also see in another international survey called "Doing Business" that represents the countries where it is easier to create business and maintain them, with the evaluation of 10 variables with different criteria that take into account things from services, bureaucracy, taxes, construction and other related issues, so I personally see that it is a good way to know the situation of each country, and where it is seen that Venezuela is at number 188 out of 190 countries that are in the ranking.
The reason why this is important to know, is that a few days ago it was being said that Venezuela was improving because there were people with many followers who went to show nice things (one of them bought a house for $20,000), as also that a lot of money is moving, but these surveys say that yes it is true, but there is also a reason for this, and it is not necessarily that Venezuela is improving.
What happens is that much of the economy moves in 1 place, and that is precisely known as the place where the people with more purchasing power are located in Venezuela (East of Caracas), so certainly a 94% of poverty reflects a 6% that is not in poverty, and most of this 6% is located where more money moves, but this does not reflect the reality of the remaining 94% of the country.
It is here when we understand that certainly someone bought a house for $20,000 but it means that someone else sold it at a loss, and we must understand that when someone sells an investment at a loss, it is for a reason that must be well founded, and it is what the macroeconomic numbers that are reflected in the economy of each person say.
The economic data speak for themselves, and if a person does not know them or does not want to see them, it does not mean that the reality is different, so it is important that we all know how the situation is where we are in order to make the best decisions, not simply make a decision by how we feel and what everyone says, even when it goes against the real numbers.

Este va a ser un artículo personal, donde quiero desahogarme un poco por los datos macroeconómicos que vi sobre mi país de nacimiento, y que representan algo muy doloroso por lo que significa y veo que pueden estar viviendo muchas personas, ya que aunque no sabía los datos duros, si sabía por muchas experiencias que la situación estaba mal, por lo que esto es un artículo hablando sobre un poco de política, pero asociado a algo de análisis para nuestras decisiones sobre los países donde queremos invertir.
La última semana pude ver la salida al público de los resultados de una encuesta de la universidad donde me gradué como licenciado en psicología en Venezuela, y la razón por la que esta encuesta es tan importante es porque se refiere a una de las pocas maneras que existen en el país de obtener datos objetivos fiables, ya que no se puede confiar en lo que dicen los políticos en Venezuela, siendo que unos intentan dar datos peores y otros que intentan dar datos que dicen que la situación está mejor.
Es lamentable lo que su pudo obtener con esta encuesta, ya que se refiere a que la situación está mucho peor que lo que se pensaba antes, y lo que se sabía con la encuesta llamada ENCOVI (Encuesta de condiciones de vida) y que sale cada año, es que en el 2019 se tenía un 90% de pobreza en el país, pero la encuesta con los resultados del 2020 dieron un 94% de pobreza y un 67% de pobreza extrema.
Al mismo tiempo que también pude ver en otra encuesta internacional llamada “Doing Business” que representa los países donde es más fácil crear empresa y mantenerlas, con la evaluación de 10 variables con diferentes criterios que toman en cuenta cosas desde los servicios, burocracia, impuestos, construcción y otros temas relacionados, por lo que personalmente veo que es una buena manera de saber la situación de cada país, y donde se ve que Venezuela se encuentra en el número 188 de 190 países que se encuentran en el ranking.
La razón por la que esto es importante saberlo, es que hace pocos días se estaba diciendo que Venezuela estaba mejorando porque habían personas con muchos seguidores que fueron a mostrar cosas bonitas (uno de ellos compró una casa por 20.000$), como también que se está moviendo mucho dinero, pero estas encuestas dicen que sí es cierto, pero que también hay una razón para esto, y no necesariamente es que Venezuela está mejorando.
Lo que ocurre es que gran parte de la economía se mueve en 1 lugar, y que justamente es conocido como el lugar donde las personas con mayor poder adquisitivo se encuentran en Venezuela (Este de Caracas), por lo que ciertamente un 94% de pobreza refleja un 6% que no está en pobreza, y ma mayor parte de este 6% se encuentra localizado en donde más dinero se mueve, pero esto no refleja la realidad del restante 94% del país.
Es aquí cuando entendemos que ciertamente alguien compró una casa por 20.000$ pero significa que otra persona la vendió en pérdida, y hay que entender que cuando alguien vende una inversión en pérdida, es por una razón que debe estar bien fundamentada, y es lo que dicen los números macroeconómicos que se reflejan en la economía de cada persona.
Los datos económicos hablan por sí mismos, y si una persona no los conoce o no los quiere ver, no significa que la realidad sea distinta, por lo que es importante que todos sepamos como es la situación donde nos encontramos para tomar las mejores decisiones, no simplemente tomar una decisión por cómo nos sentimos y lo que todos dicen, aun cuando va en contra de los números reales.
