How I made a female slippers with a shiny material for its straps.
Good evening everyone,
Yesterday I decided to work on a female slippers and I used a shinny material I got from the market the last time I went to buy things. Unfortunately for me I never knew they weren't of good quality. As I was working on the slippers I realized the shinny parts were peeling. After making the shoes I had to glue the edges to avoid it peeling off.
The first thing I did was I cut out the pattern for the straps which I'll be showing in the process part.
The materials I used include:
- Nora
- Shinny leather
- Thick black leather for the lining
- Gum
- Light Maco
PROCESS
- First I made out the pattern on a cardboard as seen below. Then I transferred the pattern on the leather. Initially I wanted to tape the edge of the top shinny leather but after gumming it started peeling so I had to cut of the edges.
- Next I cut out the shape of the leg, placed it on the top and sole Nora, marked and cut them out. After that I reduced the shape and use it to cut the light Maco.
- Next thing I did was to apply gum on the Maco and Nora and gum them together as seen below. I also gummed the heel with the down Nora too.
- At this stage, the slippers is almost complete. The next thing I did was to gum a light black leather on the gummed Maco and Nora as seen below then trimmed it out. Finally I stitched the sides on my sewing machine.
- Finally, I last the strap with the sole, marked it, and fixed the strap. After that I gummed the top sole together with the down sole.
- Below is a picture of the slippers after filling it's edges with a filling machine.
- Once the shoe was done, I dyed some parts and gave it a nice polish.
Finished look.

Nice work!
Judging from the preview image before opening the post, it did seemed like a man shoe sort of except that its smaller
Actually, someone told me today that a guy can also use it too. I guess I'll call it unisex then. Thanks for the comment.
