New drawing: Aje(The Goddess of Wealth).

Good morning everyone,

Today I want to share with us all my recent digital painting which I titled Aje. When I made my last collection “The Legend of the goddess” it consists of 4 goddess even though there were other several goddess. I just had picked four to work on at the moment. Now I decided to draw some of the other goddess I wanted to include in the collection and this beautiful one is called “Aje” meaning “Wealth”. Aje-Olokun is the daughter of Olokun and she is known as the goddess of wealth in the Yoruba land. I know every tribe have their own goddess of wealth and sometimes I even feel like these gods and goddess are connected irrespective of the tribe and country. For example Thor and Sango have similar powers and even use almost same weapon. It sometimes gets me thinking.

Anyways, Aje is the one you want to pray to in your business in order to make plenty profits. Lots of times, you will hear the yorubas making prayers to her especially in market areas and begging her to visit them and not to leave their abode. She is known widely with cowries cus that the symbol of wealth and it’s even the currency in the olden days. That’s why I used the cowries to adorn her in the painting. The purpose of these drawings is to make them to be widely known and let their legends live on forever.

The drawing was made on procreate with the normal brushes that came with it.
