Happy New Week creative needle workers, it's feels so exciting writing this post, for a sec, I was indecisive on which community to share this post with since it's also a motherhood Topic, and just decided to pick my needleworkmonday family, a home to me every Monday and more, it's my first daughter's birthday today, Monday 5th, February 2024, 6 years ago, I got blessed with the most special gift I have ever received my whole life and today please pardon me to dedicate this post to her.

My dear sweet Elena,

I can hardly believe my little girl is already 6 years old today! Watching you grow up has been the joy of my life. It seems like yesterday when I held you in my arms for the first time, but it's six years already , and now look how big you've become, I am so grateful for every moment with you and for the sweet, caring, funny little girl you are becoming.

These years with you as a young child are passing so quickly, though to you it probably feels slow. You've brought us so much joy, and I pray it stays that way, oh, I remember how I almost lost you at one year, and the doctor's report scared me to the bones, but you fought, became stronger, and put the devil to shame, looking into your eyes gives me the strength I need to pull through every day, it's amazing how a little gesture can be so powerful. I thank the heavens for blessing me with a gift as beautiful, caring, smart, and joyous as you. Indeed you are a blessed child.

Today on your birthday, I hope you take some time to dream big. Hey girl, you can achieve whatever you put your heart to, I hope this year brings you so much joy and new adventures. As you get older and experience more of the world around you, I hope you retain your sense of wonder and curiosity, stay creative, stay kind, and always stay true to yourself. You are special, don't let anyone make you feel less, These qualities will carry you far in life

However old you grow, even when you have children of your own one day, I will always be your biggest fan. I'm so excited to see the smart, thoughtful, brave young woman you are becoming. Stay true to yourself, my girl, always remember that you are loved beyond measure for exactly who God made you to be.

I am so proud of you and love you more than you'll ever know. I can't wait to see the amazing person you grow up to be. Have the happiest birthday, my sweet girl! No matter how old you get, you'll always be my little darling.

To celebrate Elena's birthday, I made her this beautiful dress using an African print fabric, I wanted it so colourful because that is what it feels like being with my daughter Elena, she is like the sun on a gloomy day, making sure everyone feels happy and very understanding for a child her age.

I wanted a simple but unique dress made specially for her, her sister also to maintain Peace in the house😅, and it was a very exciting moment making this dress, she also helped out, haha, always asking me what part I working on as she couldn't wait for her birthday to come, passing me the scissors and also when my thread got exhausted.

It was made using a basic bodice pattern for her age, and the lower part was cut in flare after doubling her waist measurement, using it as the radius of the flare,

For the extra unique part, I went for standing cap sleeves, with these beautiful fringe in blue colour, which I also used in designing the back of this dress,

and she absolutely love her dress, she said "mummy thank you" a million times lol, she's at school now, yea, she dressed like this to school, and will be having a little celebration after school with her friends.

I feel blessed as a mother, so guys help wish my little one a happy birthday.
