Hey! ¡Feliz y bendecido domingo! ¿Cuál es el día perfecto para dedicarse a explorar el mundo del cine? Exacto, ¡Hoy! 😅 Por eso les quiero compartir una película argentina que me gustó mucho y, como en otras ocasiones, la ví junto con mis hermanas coincidiendo todas en que valió totalmente la pena. Mucho piensan que el cine latino no tiene nivel o calidad, pero que chiquito se les queda el mundo desde esa perspectiva, de verdad.
Siempre los animaré a dejarse sorprender por el cine en general sin importar la nacionalidad, es una forma económica bastante eficiente de conocer otras culturas jeje... Así que bueno, hoy hablaremos de: Mi obra maestra. |

Exactly, today! 😅 That's why I want to share with you an Argentinian movie that I really liked and, as in other occasions, I saw it with my sisters and we all agreed that it was totally worth it. A lot of people think that Latin cinema has no level or quality, but how small the world is from that perspective, really.

En el mundo competitivo del arte conoceremos al galerista Arturo (Guillermo Francella), un hombre elegante, carismático, pero cuyo negocio lo ha llevado a utilizar técnicas de comercio bastante cuestionable. Por otro lado tenemos a Renzo (Luis Brandoni), un pintor de renombre que está pasando por el peor momento de su carrera artística y no está dispuesto a evolucionar su estilo para agradar a los críticos.
Arturo trabajó desde los inicios de su carrera con Renzo y, a pesar de que su personalidad es totalmente opuesta, lograron construir una relación de negocios que trascendió hasta una fiel amistad. Debido a esta lealtad, Arturo intenta por todos los medios reavivar la carrera de Enzo, pero tuvo que recurrir a una estrategia inimaginable para lograr su objetivo. |
In the competitive world of art we meet gallery owner Arturo (Guillermo Francella), an elegant, charismatic man, but whose business has led him to use questionable trading techniques. On the other hand we have Renzo (Luis Brandoni), a renowned painter who is going through the worst moment of his artistic career and is not willing to evolve his style to please the critics.
Arturo worked since the beginning of his career with Renzo and, despite their totally opposite personalities, they managed to build a business relationship that transcended into a loyal friendship. Because of this loyalty, Arturo tries by all means to revive Enzo's career, but he had to resort to an unimaginable strategy to achieve his goal. |

El humor negro es el escenario base para el desarrollo de esta historia, cargado además de críticas hacia el comercio del arte y el capitalismo en general, pero sin abordar el tema de manera directa o con mucha profundidad. Veremos a un personaje (Renzo) cuyo modo de vida choca violentamente con sus convicciones y su discurso de "solo pinto por amor al arte", demostrando que en realidad está frustrado con la percepción que tiene el mundo actual hacia su trabajo.
Es un hombre desagradable, grosero y sin un gramo de ética profesional, pero que escuda su actitud con el estereotipo de "Los grandes artistas son raros, bohemios, no se saben comportar a nivel social", y adjetivos que al final solamente excusan la actitud hostil de un ser carente de empatía y respeto. |
Black humor is the base scenario for the development of this story, also loaded with criticism of the art trade and capitalism in general, but without addressing the subject directly or with much depth. We will see a character (Renzo) whose way of life clashes violently with his convictions and his discourse of "I only paint for the love of art", showing that he is actually frustrated with the current world's perception of his work. |

Arturo en cambio es más sincero, ¿en qué sentido? Bueno, simplemente él sabe cómo se maneja su negocio y está consiente de cuál es la actitud con la que debe afrontarlo para lograr ser conocido y prestigioso. Es un hombre que se mueve por el dinero y en ningún momento lo disfraza, sabe lo que tiene que hacer y va por ello sin pensar mucho en sus propios valores.
Pero que, muy a pesar de su amor por el dinero, su conexión con Renzo lo llevó a soportar y aguantar sus miles de desplantes, porque creía en el talento de éste y, por alguna razón, sentía mucha empatía con su situación. En líneas generales es el manager que todo artista quisiera tener. |
Arturo, on the other hand, is more sincere, in what way? Well, he simply knows how his business is managed and he is aware of the attitude with which he must face it in order to be known and prestigious. He is a man who is driven by money and at no time disguises it, he knows what he has to do and goes for it without thinking much about his own values.
But that, despite his love for money, his connection with Renzo led him to endure and put up with his thousands of rebuffs, because he believed in Renzo's talent and, for some reason, felt a lot of empathy with his situation. In general terms, he is the manager that every artist would like to have. |

La historia tiene un giro que para algunos puede ser algo predecible y para otros si sorprende, pero sin importar está condición mantiene siempre al espectador enganchado con la historia, tiene escenas hermosas desde el punto de vista teatral, de escenografía y guión, demostrando la calidad del film.
El humor que maneja es simple pero inteligente, y me encanta el hecho de que prácticamente solo conoceremos a los 2 protagonistas, el resto del reparto es circunstancial, lo que permite que vaya directo al grano de la historia. |
The story has a twist that for some may be somewhat predictable and for others it surprises, but regardless of this condition always keeps the viewer engaged with the story, it has beautiful scenes from the theatrical point of view, scenery and script, demonstrating the quality of the film.
The humor it handles is simple but clever, and I love the fact that we will practically only meet the 2 main characters, the rest of the cast is circumstantial, which allows it to get straight to the point of the story. |

Hay un personaje que no me gustó tanto y no es por la actuación, sino porque su inclusión se notó forzada en la historia y carecía de sentido en general, pero bueno, digamos que creó un dilema moral importante en los protagonistas y por ende nos deja una reflexión.
Otro tema importante y que es un secreto a voces es que el dinero maneja el mundo, la manipulación y el prestigio van de la mano, y no hay mala publicidad en el mundo artístico o en general. Mientras hablen de ti estarás presente en el público y sea bueno o malo, siempre traerá beneficios económicos. A este film le doy un 7/10 ⭐ |
There is one character that I didn't like so much and it's not because of the acting, but because his inclusion felt forced in the story and lacked sense in general, but well, let's say that he created an important moral dilemma in the protagonists and therefore leaves us with a reflection.
Another important issue that is an open secret is that money runs the world, manipulation and prestige go hand in hand, and there is no bad publicity in the artistic world or in general. As long as they talk about you you will be present in the public and whether it is good or bad, it will always bring economic benefits. I give this film a 7/10 ⭐. |

Argentina, tiene una larga y nutrida historia dentro del buen cine. Guillermo Francella es uno de los múltiples talentos que este país ha producido. Y ni hablar de Ricardo Darín, Diego Perotti, y muchísimo más. En resumen, el cine argentino posee una calidad espectacular. Dominan todos los géneros y sin duda, tienen mucho de que estar orgullosos.

Hello friend, I think I've never seen a production of Argentina and much less of this type of genre, even so this story sounds quite interesting to see these men, each with a personality and a way of seeing things. I will look for it and thanks for sharing this review with us, greetings.
Hey! Esta producción tiene bastante humor negro, y quizás en algunas actitudes de uno de los protagonistas sientas que es pesado, pero hay otros rasgos de su personaje que caen bien 😅 Es una mezcla de amor/odio.
I have seen very little of Francella's work, but the little I have seen I liked it. For example, right now I'm hooked on this show that they always show on comedy central, Casados con Hijos, it's really good.
Certainly Latin American cinema has shown that it has a lot of potential. I have seen more shorts than movies, but the shorts are great and very deep, with very hard messages in some cases. I am one of those who think that with a bigger budget, great things could be done.

A mi me encantan los cortos latinos. Algo en lo que se lucen mucho es en los cortos animados, algunos tienen cierto sentido otros son bastante subrealistas pero todos tienen su mágia y su mensaje.
