We Are All Steem

avatar

After taking in most of the conversations that were going on today I'm cautiously optimistic about the future of Steem. I think if we can manage to keep this blockchain decentralized we have a bright future.

Keeping the Blockchain Secure

This is tough for any blockchain. I never realized it before, but going through some of the What Bitcoin podcasts, I found out that Bitcoin has been 51% "attacked" before.

One of the first pools created to help miners were able to accumulate 51% of the hashing power. Luckily, the pool had no intention of doing anything malicious to the blockchain and was able to reduce its hashing power to under 51% shortly after, but the chance was still there.

Justin Sun or any person on the platform has the chance to buy up enough Steem to vote in or out whatever witness they deserve. I don't know what's so concerning as whoever owns the freedom account is pretty much able to hand-select which witnesses are in the top 20.

So why does it matter if Justin Sun can? Who knows how much money he spent to purchase Steemit, but why would he try to do something to tank the value of Steem moments after making the purchase?

It will be interesting to see what changes are made to help to further decentralize this platform, which is something I see that happens over the long term as more and more people join and being to power up Steem on the platform.

We Are All Steem

Some people do hold more power on the platform. Those with large stakes, the top witnesses, and some of the leaders of popular communities hold more power both real and perceived.

Every time I hear Dan talk he's always saying that we are all the CEO of Steem. We all get a say in the future of the project and all we have to do is go out there and make it happen.

I don't know anyone on the platform that wouldn't help make Steem a better platform if you went out and found an opportunity. This is something I didn't realize when I first started on the platform.

image.png

I always felt like I had to ask permission to go do something. That is one thing great about a decentralized project and platform is that you just need to go out and do it. If it helps improve the platform and you could show how you would get a lot of support on Steem.

If you have an idea on how to get Steem listed on a popular exchange, get a Dapp to move or develop on the blockchain, or to help get more people onboarded easier I don't think there has been a better time than now to make this happen.

Now don't be surprised if you make a post with no action if you don't get much support. Go out and make something happen and then come back and make a post on the results and what you need help with to get to the finish line. I can't speak about others, but I'm very pessimistic until I see someone with some results needing a little help to reach the finish line.

Bullish on Steem, With an Exit Plan

I'm not going to be the captain of this ship and go down with it, but I have never been more bullish on Steem than I am now.

What does that mean?

I currently have no plans to sell my Steem Power, but I will continue to diversify into other crypto projects by selling some Steem and SBD. I know crypto is risky in general, but I seem like it's a little silly not to get more exposure to Bitcoin, Ethereum, and maybe even a little Tron.

I've been trying to post at least once a day for over the past week, and have so far been making that happen so far. I am going to give other platforms and try and will at least spend 1 day a week publishing somewhere else. Even if that means making a video and posting it on both YouTube, Dtube, and 3speak.

I'm not planning on leaving Steem though. About the only thing that would cause me to leave Steem is if we decided to fork out someone's holdings unless someone is trying to plan or carry out a hostile take over.

image.png

My "exit" plan is to continue to take some of my liquid Steem and SBD earnings and find good projects to invest in to help me expand my crypto holdings.

I Plan On Working Even Harder to Improve Steem

I'm not sure what I can do, but even with all that said, I plan on working as hard as I can to make this project better.

To help others see the value on Steem for onboarding their friends into crypto. To help spread the word on what an awesome project Steem is.

I'm going to work on creating better content more consistently and invest in some of my favorite dapps on the platform.

Just because I'm not living in a fairy tale with rose-colored glasses, doesn't mean I still don't believe, after the AMA with Justin and Ned, that Steem still can be one of the greatest projects and blockchains in the space.

Succeeding where many others in the space have failed, and working hard enough to get successful enough that we won't need to tell others we told you so because we will be too busy working on becoming the best.

You flagged me the other day.
Would be kind enough to let me know what that is about?

I am on a few different flagging trails, so you'd have to ask one of them, but I assume it would be low effort or plagiarized content. Curie OCDB and slobberchops are the trails I follow I'm pretty sure.

Thank you for the reply.
No it is not for low effort posts.
It is because I had enough of the flag abuse and threatening spam from the berniesanders group of account. So I started to Spam the abusive spam but not from this account. I also noticed that wherever some flag abuse or some fake flag war was going on markymark was running cover and joining in.

bernies abusive spam ended by the way so that meant mine ended as well.
So the way I see it, you should be thanking me with many upvotes for having the
tenacity to challenge such disgusting behavior of such large accounts.

You are in fact supporting a chain of command which actively works against the mass adoption of Steem and has been doing so from day 1 as far as I can tell.

Flag trails are not a positive thing. You were following one of the @themarkymark alt accounts. @themarkymark has told many untruths about me all of which were easy to verify as false.

If you cant see why an account is being abused it is fart better not to flag it. I am sure you dont really want to be lumped in with the most vile abusers on Steemit

I enjoy adding content to the different platforms such as SteemLeo, dedicated to financial content, and the Steemsilvergold community, with a discussion of the role of precious metals in this world of unlimited fiat currencies diluting purchasing power

As Acid-man sez, @Nerd leaving Steemit is the most bullish sign since 2018. I won't miss his catatonic personality, he strikes me as weak, low-energy and very apathetic. I do think that Mister Sun is a go-getter, I just hope he's not a dream-smasher in the process.

Also, argree with this:

Go out and make something happen and then come back and make a post on the results and what you need help with to get to the finish line.

You REALLY gotta prove yourself to get any kind of routine or serious backing... Can't even rest on laurels for long, the voters will go and chase the next cool idea :D

Yeah I don't see how destroying Steem helps Tron as I said above there is a lot of other competition out there you still have to compete with.

Especially when he now owns so much Steem. Why destroy something you just bought a lot of.

I do not trust San - until I see positive changes and clear sequential actions, I will not change my opinion. He does not need STEEM - he will kill him.

Who knows what he needs. It's a 50/50 shot.

I don't see why he purchased it just to kill it, how will that boost Tron's value? Even if he's releasing a social platform there are plenty out there including Minds, Cent, Publish0x, and Voice is coming out.

I currently see Steemit as a tool to help grow Tron and get him more users. I think he sees this as Tron helps Steem and Steem helps Tron, but I could be wrong.

Ah I am glad to have your attention.
Now that I have it I will ask the question again. Why did you flag the comment I made to @freebornagel ?
