A Nature Travel Escapade In Manticao

There are many beautiful and fascinating things and places can be found in the Province. Trees, birds, insects, animals, plants and other wonderful and relaxing place. Today, as a quick tour, allow me to show the fascinating place here in the Province of Misamis Oriental. This will help everyone specially those who lived in other countries to see our place also. The first picture as I shown is all about sunrise. We experienced a beautiful day today. The sun are very shine and no big dark clouds can be seen that is why there are no tendency that there will be a bad weather or storm coming.

The Province of Misamis Oriental is one of coconut industry in Mindanao. Almost all of the residents who lived in this place are coconut farmers, and this is the primary source of income for their family. In the place were I traveled, I seen many coconut trees and I am very amazed of what I seen today. The trees bares more coconuts and next month it is ready for harvesting. In my observation, the place I already went was also field with coconuts and for them, coconuts are very valuable.

The owner of this place wants to plant more coconuts because there are still more spacious place or vacant place good for planting coconuts. Some of the folks, made it copra and sell it to the big company here in our Province. This is a good source of income all we need to do is patience and hardwork to harvest more and earn.

The place was filled also with many wild plants just like this one. This is a small Balete plants grew in the stem of a tree. People who loves to plant balete make it as a bonsai [ a planting method filled up with more stone mot soil ]. The Local Government of Misamis Oriental prohibited by cutting this kind of trees or plants. This can give a big help specially in the soil to prevent from eroding. The roots of this plant will strongly hold the soil and it can create more water.

The depth of the roots is below sea level so it means that this plant will not be easily to washed out if there is a big flood happen.

As I continued to wandering around, I seen this tiny yellow flower blooming near at the mountain. I asked some of my friends about the name of this flower and they answered "Mini-Sunflower". Well obviously this is really a mini-sunflower because of its characteristics and form just like Sunflower. This is a kind of wild flower and very common here in our place.
Carabao and cow are loves to eat this plant and for human also, the leaves are very itchy if it touch in our skin.

This is what we called Alocasia Plant. In local term we called this Bajang, a kind of very itchy plant if we touch in our skin. The fluid comes from this plant is very itchy also that is why people are avoiding this. Even animals don't eat this plant and it grews only in the cool and shady place. There are few kinds of Alocasia here in the Province but among of it, this one is the most dangerous. There are alocasia ornamental plants and all plant lovers wanted to take care of other alocasia except that one.

This Wildflower are also very attractive to our eyes, it has a violet round shape just like a small cherry. This is very common plant and people used the branches of this as cane. While the other picture is the flower of the fruit called abana. Abana fruit can help to cure stomachaches, deworming for small children and abana shake for dessert.

Traveling along with the Nature is fun and relaxing. It is a good form of exercise and we can see many fascinating and beautiful places.
