Exploring Lawis Forest Place in Manticao, Misamis Oriental

Each of us wants to explored relaxing greenery place, this will help us to become relax and enjoyed walking in the midst of the Forest. Today, I would like to share my Nature travel adventure in Lawis, Manticao, Misamis Oriental. This place contains lots of trees, wild plants, some valuable crops and landscapes. I can say that this place is perfect for summer outings and make campings here, there are no houses and only valuable plants can be seen here like manggoes and coconuts. Before we proceed to our main topic, first I will share the exact location of Sitio Lawis, Manticao, Misamis Oriental.

Sitio Lawis is located far from National Road and it is also a border point of Barangay Punta Silum and Barangay Calangahan. If we start traveling from Barangay Poblacion Manticao, it needs to travel for 45 minutes depends on the traffic before we reached the areas, addens the walking trail adventure so it reach that time. This Sitio contains a few houses only but this place I went are all trees, wildplants can only be seen and found.

Even if it was very hot sunny day, I keep pursuing myself to explored the place. It was lucky for me because there are lots of place contains a shady areas because of the big trees and coconut leaves. During my travel, I heard many birds flying and tweeting around the place particularly in those big trees. It seems the birds are very happy to live in here because of lots of trees and a cool places.

Walking in the road trail is much more adventurous for me. This place contains no Concrete roads, or any excavated road instead only a road trail just for the people who wants to passing by here in the place. This place is also serve as there shortcut and everytime they felt tired for a long walk, they stopped in here and rest for a minute before starting and continued to walk again.

Sometimes, Nature have a lot of climate and Natural phenomenon activities just like this one. This is a kind of big tree leaning towards the other tree and I also noticed some big cracks in the place. In my observation, this was because of the Earthquakes happens here, reason this tree was leaning towards the other tree. This is dangerous to all people who pass in here because it will falled down to the ground in no time.

We officially experienced summer season here in our place, some of the trees are already vanishing the leaves but it will be back when the rainy season happens. People from far away places loves to went here and do camping together with their friends and or families. Some of them are enjoyed taking pictures and videos in the place. This big tree is what we called, Mahogany all of its leaves are already falled at the ground and only its branches left.

Coconut trees are very popular and common here in the Province, and most of the people here are their primary source of income. Even if the place is contains with hills, still there are lots of coconut trees planted, and some of it are already produced coconut fruits and ready to harvest for the next Month. Approximately, there are 800 coconut trees can be seen here based on my estimation and only few are not yet producing coconut fruits.

We called this one, Romblon. One of the best plant used for making sleep Mats, chicken coup and baskets. The leaves of this plant will hanged and dry before making it of any kinds of crafts. Usually it also grows near at the coast and it produces a big fruits and releases seeds when it will withered and dried.

This Hill also contains many young coconut trees and near of this hill is the Stream that leads to the sea. The place was very cool and there are lots of big trees grown in the place. Even if the areas are slightly rocky but still there are lots of Crops and any valuable crops can be seen here.

This was once a stream, but because of the intense heat happens in the place this stream was completely dried out and only this holes were the water flows only left. It leads down to the sea and many big rocks can be seen here. This are two channels of stream and joint together. It gives a lot of changes in the place if there is a hot and intense heat brought by the Sun.

Last is this very old Ipil tree. It was already dried and withered but it keeps standing in the place for many ,many years already. Some of the branches are already broke and falled down but the big trunk of this tree keeps standing. There are lots of fascinating views in this areas, and until now this place is full of trees and wild plants it keeps the surroundings cool and attractive.
