My Hardworking And Loving Grandma

Our Grandparents is also serve as our second parent. They teach us in many good ways, discipline us so that we will be a good member in the society. For today's blog, I will share my loving and hardworking Grandma. Yesterday, I decided to take a visit on her place. My Grandma will always happy to see me when I visited here because she is the only one living in here simple and unique house.

Back when she was at her young age, she lived in Barangay Linangkayan Naawan Misamis Oriental and she always keeping herself very busy just like gathering more firewoods, planting Ornamental plants, gardening and other things that she like to do. Until now in her 79 years, she always do that kind of chores. My Grandma blessed with 5 kids, but her elder son died already because of brain tumor. She also blessed with 10 Grandchildren and I am the eldest, she always keep herself busy and for her this is a kind of good exercises.

I taking her a picture while she was very busy gathering more firewoods. According to here, it is good to have more firewoods so that in times of rainy seasons or any chores that involves cooking, there are more firewoods that can be use. She gathered more mahogany branches because this kind of tree is good for cooking uses. Every morning, this what she always do and I thinks this is a kind of simple exercise to my Grandma.

This is her simple and unique house. It is made of concrete and it build near at the Barangay road. Year 2020 when this house renovated and she was very happy that her house renovated and turns into new and comfortable one. She was very thankful to her children to have this new renovated house for her. She live here in this Zone for almost 40 years and it is good to here because she can't do any extremely hiking in high places particularly in our Sitio, that is why it is good to her to stay in this wonderful and nice place.

She loves to plant flowers and according to her, flowers can make the place colorful, fascinated and attractive. She also added that even if it is only a simple house, still it would be attractive when there are many pretty flowers in the place. Some of the her favorite flowers is the Dancing lady. It contains a bright yellow color and the shape of its petals is just like a lady dancing and waving her dress. Even I , I also amazed of what I seen and truly it is very attractive.

Next is the Rosal Flower, were it contains bright white color of the petals with a small portion of yellow color at the middle of its petals. This is very easy to propegate and she teach me how to propegate rosal flowers.

Next is this dark blue trumphet flower. Truly she loves to collect flowers and placed it in front of my Grandma's house. Many people especially her neighbors amazed and attracted my Grandma's place because of her pretty flowers. Many of her friends loves to visit on my Grandmother's place just to watch and see her pretty flowers. Sometimes, my grandma sell some of her plants and it is a very big help to sustain her needs.

She also owned this water pump and many of her neighbors also benefits this water pump specially when there is no water from the faucet. Here, she can washed her clothes, cleaning the house and use for watering the plants. This water pump is very big help to my grandma here in her place.

She also loves gardening and one of here crops planted on here simple backyard garden is this crops called "Lutya". She told me here story back when she was in sitio Linangga, she always plant this kind of crops to her farm land or what we called, BAOL, A place where corns and other plants placed. Until now she plant this crop and cook as one of the main ingredient of fish soup.

She loves to collect more ornamental plants and in fact, there are already many ornamental plants that my Grandma collected from her friends who loves plants also and sometimes they do bartering or buying from other place.

I am proud, I have my loving Grandma and as One of her Grandchild, I will always love her as my second parent and mother.
