My Niece Birthday Celebration

A blessed evening to all of us fellow hivers, A Special day for my nephew as he is celebrating Her fifth birthday yesterday. The special day was really prepared because there was a lechon, onenof the food tradition during birthdays. And of course, it's a tradition for us to hold a mañanita where, the person celebrating the birthday sings a birthday song. To let you all know the events, this is what happened yesterday.

Just yesterday morning, everyone was already busy arranging and taking care of the decorations and ingredients to be cooked. Because the food is for noon or lunch, it is really good that everyone will work together so that the tasks can be completed easily and not run out of time. Each member of our family has their own tasks, others clean the house, organize things, cook dishes and put decorations on the table.

Lechon does not miss an occasion. It is one of the centerpieces in a feast. Uncle was also busy cleaning the pork and then he put spices on it to roast it on the burning fire. Lechon takes a little time to cook so it is better to cook it early so that by noon everyone will be able to eat it.

The women are busy peeling the carrots and potatoes that will be added to the cooked food. It is quite difficult to peel this type of vegetable so it is used with a piller and others use a knife. Not only the vegetables are prepared, but also garlic, onion and other ingredients that make the food fragrant.

Soon, the lechon will be sieved and the lechon pork will begin to cook. Luckily, the weather was not bad so there was no interruption in cooking lechon. My uncle cooks with my other cousin, they happily talk to each other about the things around. The lechon was easily cooked because charcoal was used to cook it.

These are some more of what we cooked yesterday morning. It is good to have other potage to entertain the birthday guests. Everyone is really busy cooking various potages or dishes. I was satisfied because all the members of the family cooperated to facilitate all the work. It is also inevitable that there are children who chase each other inside and outside the house, but it is okay because it gives them pleasure in life.

There will also be giveaways for children attending the event. Because my nephew's favorite is a Cartoon movie called Frozen so this is the theme of his birthday. The giveaways contain candies, toys and more. The children were happy to get giveaways from the occasion.

Everything was prepared and the tasks were completed within a few hours. This is what we prepared earlier for my niece's birthday.
Before eating, of course we prayed and blessed the birthday person and then we started eating. Everyone was very happy while eating. While the others were eating, my niece's birthday girl was busy playing outside my grandmother's house with her cousin.

My aunt's colleagues who were teachers from Iligan City also came and my niece was very happy to see her godmothers. Celebrating our birthday is only once a year, so we should really appreciate it because our birthday is a twin in our life.
