He escuchado a jovencitos
decir: ya pasó de moda
que todo está en Internet
y que les llegó su hora

Les digo a los más jóvenes
que no crean habladurías
todo libro sigue siendo
fuente de sabiduría

En honor al día del libro
quiero rendir homenaje
a Shakespeare y Cervantes
dos genios, dos personajes

Un español y un inglés
de diferente nación
pero unidos por las letras
que atesoran con pasión.

to Shakespeare and Cervantes
two geniuses, two characters
A Spaniard and an Englishman
from different nations
but united by the letters
that they treasure with passion.

con escritos muy famosos
que todos hemos amado.

Con estilos diferentes
y diferentes lenguajes
con su afilada pluma
dan vida a sus personajes

Legado que a muchos cambia
muchos otros motivados
escritos que son eternos
no podrán ser olvidados.

El genio de Cervantes
hace que de su pluma brote
en algún lugar de la Mancha
el hidalgo Don Quijote

Con estilo inconfundible
de realidad y cordura
nos introduce en su mundo
de alocadas aventuras

that we have all loved.
With different styles
and different languages
with their sharp pen
give life to their characters

writings that are eternal

somewhere in La Mancha
the nobleman Don Quixote
With an unmistakable style
of reality and sanity
he introduces us into his world
of crazy adventures

que habita en el recuerdo
un jocoso personaje
vive loco y muere cuerdo.

¿Qué decir de Shakespeare?
nos cuenta en largo escrito
historias de la vida misma
pero sin final bonito

Es ser o no es el ser
ahí esta el dilema
se dio cuenta Shakespeare
que existir es un problema

Aquellos que amaron tanto
con amores de historieta
me refiero por supuesto
a su Romeo y Julieta

Sin duda mis amigos
vale la pena leer
lo que dejaron estos genios
que el mundo vio nacer
la lectura es un deleite
que alimenta el saber
