Greetings, friends of the @dailyblog community! I hope you’ve enjoyed a wonderful day filled with harmony and happiness.

Today I’d like to share some photos from a meeting we had as a pastoral group to plan the tasks we still needed to carry out at the parish where I serve.

We formed a team of couples to work at the grape harvest event and set out to collect donations from parishioners and local businesses, while also contributing our labor and effort to prepare the dishes that would be sold there.

The next day we were going to hold a harvest festival to raise funds to help with improvements to the church and the halls, so we planned to chop the vegetables for the soup after the meeting.

The final activity of the meeting was singing “Happy Birthday” to those celebrating birthdays that month and cutting a cake to celebrate; we do this every month to encourage actions that strengthen peace and unity among all members.

After eating the cake, we set aside a piece for the parish priest, and the birthday celebrant took the rest home.

When we left the meeting, the vegetables were waiting for us, and we set to work peeling and chopping several kilos of vegetables, mincing the seasonings, washing the soup pot, and preparing the stove and gas for cooking.

Even though we were all busy, there were always moments to joke and laugh, making the work more enjoyable.

It’s hard, exhausting work, but very rewarding because we do it with love to achieve our goal of raising money for a good cause—such as helping the parish meet its needs and serving the community.

Día de preparación para el servicio

Saludos amigos de la comunidad @dailyblog, espero que hayan disfrutado de un excelente dia con armonía y felicidad.

Hoy les quiero compartir algunas imágenes de lo que fue un día de reunión como grupo pastoral para planificar las acciones que teníamos pendientes por ejecutar en la parroquia en que sirvo.

Conformamos un equipo de parejas para trabajar en las vendimias y nos dedicamos a reunir donativos de personas de la feligresía y de los comercios y aportamos nuestra mano de obra y esfuerzo para preparar los platos que se venderán en la misma.

Al día siguiente íbamos a tener una vendimia para recaudar fondos para ayudar con las mejoras del templo y los salones, así que planificamos picar las verduras para la sopa luego de salir de la reunión.

La última actividad de la reunión fue cantar cumpleaños a los cumpleaños del mes y picar una torta para celebrarlo, así lo hacemos cada mes, a fin de estimular las acciones que fortalecen la paz y la unión entre todos los miembros.

Luego de comernos la torta, le guardamos su pedazo al párroco y el resto se lo llevó el cumpleañero.

Al salir de la reunión nos esperaban las verduras y nos dedicamos a pelar y picar puños cuantos kilos de verduras, picar los aliños, lavar la olla sopera y preparar la cocina y el gas para la cocción.

A pesar de que todos nos ocupamos, siempre hubo momentos para bromear y reírnos para hacer de la faena algo agradable.

Es un trabajo fuerte y agotador pero muy satisfactorio porque lo hacemos con amor para lograr cumplir con la meta de recolectar dinero para algo bueno como ayudar a la parroquia en sus necesidades y también para servir a la comunidad.
