Marry Me!

One of the beautiful things about life is love. One who has not experienced it may not know this.

Wedding, the day when love is celebrated by joining the lovebirds is usually the happiest day in the life of a woman. It is usually a happy day for the man too.

The celebration could be large scale, medium or small scale depending on the financial status or decision of the couple. It could even be minimal and based solely on invitations.

Most women look forward to the wedding day, unlike the men. Most times it's as if the man is not interested in getting married as much as the woman.

I think this is because while the woman is virtually almost always ready for marriage (depending on the cultural setting) the man needs to acquire a decent level of financial stability and if he has not attained this, he is not so enthusiastic to get married.

This doesn't mean that he stays away from women and love, No! He gets entangled in relationships and the women are not as patient as he is as the biological clock is ticking and she is expecting him to give her the ring.

There is a song by Falz, Yemi Alade and Poe that first came to my mind when I saw the #Aprilinleo prompt for today and it's called "Marry Me"

It talks about a man who has been in relationship with a lady and she is getting impatient. She then attends a wedding with her man and it makes her sad to realise that her younger friends are getting engaged and married.

She begins to mount more pressure on the man to get married to her ASAP evidenced by the line "you go marry me eh, today today"

Here is a link to the song video, I hope you like it as much as I do.

A friend and I at a wedding

I love attending weddings because I love seeing love celebrated, especially that of friends and relatives.
I also like the atmosphere around the wedding hall, it is usually filled with friendly smiles and easy going people and I find it a good place to make new friends.

I don't really like the concept
called divorce, especially when it is messy. It baffles me because I feel these individuals were in love, or at least liked themselves enough to get into a marriage so how come they turned to enemies to the extent of a messy breakup.

This is my response to the April inleo prompt day 21. Here is the link to the prompt https://inleo.io/@leo.tasks/april-inleo-monthly-calendar-now-here

Come join in the fun.

Generally, I don't lean towards Divorce. Although marriages shouldn't be rushed to mitigate the divorce rate. We share the same logical thinking to a great extent.

Nice one

I can't believe I am listening to this song for this first time😀
Despite it being funny it conveys an important message.
The cultural demands have made so many women to see marriage as a necessity. Love is no longer important, but the ring. That for me a highly faulty ideology

Very nice song, especially the rap 😊
It's a faulty ideology but what can one do? A good no of women live above this expectations and strive to follow the one they love even though he is not all set in the beginning. Sometimes it ends well sometimes it doesn't.

Anyway life doesn't have a rule book, what works for one may not work for the other. We just hope for the best.
