Muzeum muzyki "Nikolaos Chalikiopoulos Mantzaros" na Korfu
Muzeum muzyki na Korfu zwiedziłam razem z wnukiem minionego lata.
Muzeum jest niewielkie i znajduje się w centrum Starego Miasta, na piętrze jednej z zabytkowych kamieniczek zbudowanych przez Wenecjan.
Muzeum nosi nazwę założyciela pierwszego na Korfu Towarzystwa Filharmonii (Philharmonic Society of Corfu).
Nikolaos Chalikiopoulos Mantzaros był muzykiem i kompozytorem. Pochodził z bogatej weneckiej rodziny i urodził się na wyspie Korfu, gdzie pobierał nauki muzyki, gry na fortepianie i dyrygentury.
Z czasem stał się znanym kompozytorem greckim. Jego najbardziej znanym utworem jest oprawa muzyczna wiersza napisanego przez Dionizosa Solomosa, który został uznany za hymn narodowy Grecji.
W 1840 roku Mantzaros założył na Korfu Towarzystwo Filharmonii w którym uczył muzyki i gry na różnych instrumentach dzieci z wszystkich klas społecznych.
W muzeum możemy zobaczyć autentyczne partytury kompozycji Mantzarosa i jego prywatne pianino. Są tu także ekspozycje instrumentów, nut i archiwum Towarzystwa oraz nagrania występów orkiestry.
Z biegiem lat zrezygnowano z instrumentów smyczkowych i Zespół Filharmonii Mantzaros przekształcił się w zespół instrumentów dętych i perkusyjnych.
Zespół do dziś dnia defiluje po Starym Mieście Korfu podczas wszystkich świąt świeckich i kościelnych a cudowna muzyka już ponad dwa wieki rozbrzmiewa wśród weneckich kamieniczek.
Aktualnie na Korfu działa kilka głównych Zespołów Filharmonii a wiele mniejszych powstało w różnych miejscowościach na wyspie.
Wszystkie zespoły do dziś dnia podtrzymują tradycję darmowej nauki muzyki dla dzieci, którą zapoczątkował Nikolaos Chalikiopoulos Mantzaros.
Oczywiście samo muzeum również można zwiedzać za darmo.
Co ciekawe dosłownie drzwi obok znajduje się inne muzeum, gdzie wstęp kosztuje 15 euro dla dorosłych a 10 euro dla dzieci. Trochę szczypie ale pewnie kiedyś i tam się wybiorę.
