| Construction of the palace began in 1815, when the island of Corfu was under British rule. Stone specially imported from Malta was used in its construction. It is the largest building in the Ionian Islands and the second largest in Greece (after Othon's Palace in Athens, which currently houses the Greek Parliament). | Budowę pałacu rozpoczęto w 1815 roku, kiedy wyspa Korfu znajdowała się pod panowaniem brytyjskim. Do jego budowy wykorzystano kamień specjalnie sprowadzony z Malty. | The palace garden has flowers, benches and a lot of trees. One of them is really special, it's phytolacca dioica (ombu) - a beautiful and large specimen. Jedno z nich jest na prawdę wyjątkowe, to phytolacca dioica (ombu) - piękny i wielki okaz. Można by się schować pomiędzy pniami tego drzewa. |

I like the constructions with those columns, this one takes me to Rome, in the last picture I saw in the description it says Phytolacca, I've never seen something like this before, is it a tree or ..., is indeed very interesting.
You are right, Roman and Greek decorative elements were used during the construction of the Palace.
Phytolacca is a very big tree, I saw it for the first time in my life.
