New gribblytunes incoming...Past Pastures Past

Oh God. He's at it again...

I suspect that with this release, I'm setting a precedent. For my last EP, Australia #1 I did a short run of 10 home burned CDs, with a homemade cover and some other bits & bobs in the package. It was nice as a one-off, and I was amazed that it sold out in a day (but there was only 10! 🤣)

With this latest release, Past Pastures Past (another collection of chilled, bucolic tunes in a similar vein to Pastoral Pyramids), I thought I'd do something similar.

The interest on social media has been a little surprising. I'm doing another 10, and I think they'll go as quickly as the Aus EP.

I must say, I have gone to town a little. Die-cutting the sleeves and pasting a page from the Ladybird book The Farm behind, finding some old educational slides on Farms & Farming to pop in the package, sorting out a special little 'Thank You' card that will grow wildflowers if you plant it.

It's a lot of work for someone who isn't really that crafty, but I must admit I do enjoy it.

I think I'll need to get used to it, as I may need to make more of each CD if I carry on... 😆

If you're interested in hearing a preview of the actual music, Katy Jay from SkyLab Radio had an exclusive play of one of the tracks on her Mixed Feeling Show earlier in the month. You can hear it below from around 1:48 in...

If you like the sound of that and fancy a go at securing one of the extremely limited CDs, then follow me on Twitter, Mastodon and my Bandcamp site (link to my links below!) - I'll be announcing on all 3 when it's released. But you'll need to be quick! Of course, you could buy the tunes on Bandcamp if you missout on the CD... 😁

I'll pop a more general post on here when it's out with some links to the tunes etc.

Cheers,

.g

One of the best ways you can help indie musicians like me - should you want to - is to share our music. Our biggest challenge is getting heard, and folk who like our stuff posting about it on social media is a huge help. Liking and sharing anywhere is super, posting links to the tunes is wonderful. Following artists on Audius, Spotify, YouTube and any other streaming services all help to feed the algorithm and raises the chance of our stuff being noticed and seen by others. Thanks!

Haven't seen you around here for a while, must have been a busy lad! I've still got a stack of CDs that I thought I'd eventually get around to putting in a case and fling them about the place.

That was 8 years ago now and I still have the blank CDs lol!

Listening in to your chilled vibes on Katy's show now, something a little different from you by the sounds of it, it's dramatic, yet chill :)

You really did go to town on those cases, love the craftsmanship, get this man on The Repair Shop!

Well, hello Nicky me old mucker!

I've been occasionally popping in & out here - but, yeah, there's only so many hours in the day... 😁

I'm really not that crafty - fat fingers & clumsy thumbs. But I do enjoy putting something nice together for folk. And folk seem to like it too - those 10 CDs sold out in 30 minutes!!!

Hope you're keeping well, sir. Nice to see you pop up in my comments...

I hear you on the hours! I get back from work and the time has just evaporated! 10 CDs in 30 minutes is a great turnaround - well done, fire up the CD press for another batch!
