I have a blog post sat in my draft folder talking about how the upcoming 'disruptors' in the streaming sector have a chicken and egg issue insofar that they always focus on getting artists onto their platforms, and building features around them, when (i think) it is listeners that they need to be putting first.

I have small ambitions of my own trying to build a community on Hive around my music - I can see the potential of the ecosystem to be a really positive tool for small, indie musicians such as me.

And, as you know, I love Rising Star. 😉

So - I see this as a really interesting development. If you can manage to ensure that it's membership is broad and it doesn't become another group of artists supporting/playing artists (although nothing wrong with that per se - that's another half-written blog post!), then that's the key thing - and it's good to see you mention that in your initial blurb.

We need to get the right balance of musicians and fans so that both sides benefit. There are a fair few musicians here already, so we should do what we can to support them and then more of their fans may come over. Have to get a buzz going.

thats exactly what i dont want for this community, as you said theres nothing wrong with that but i see the highest potential in the listeners and music lovers. And i will put all my hearth in doing this for the benefit of all our users and players. And really thanks for your words <3!
