Masks @MoMA, Vilnius

An artwork entitled "Sorrows" by Lithuanian artist Stasys Eidrigevičius.

M3 (20).jpg

It was created between 1989 -90 made out of different bits of wood and tress and twigs and branches...yup you get the idea.

M3 (21).jpg

Said to "focus on the human face as a mask, exploring themes of persona, ego, and vulnerability"

The artist flogs his stuff for thousands of euros, I am sure I saw something similar for sale in my local garden centre the other day for about 20 quid

Thanks for visiting my page, I am pleased to make your acquaintance. this is Stephen aka, @grindle, happily retired, travelling the world snapping away. My weapon of choice is currently a Nikon Z6.jpg

Interesting masks, but I'm wondering who's paying thousands of euros for these.

Well it is a bit like payingmillions for a damien Hirst load of crap or a Tracy Emin effort. That is the thing about art that I will never get my head around
