Rural Urbex: time capsule with comfy seats

Mini yaaaaarkshire road trip, undecided which route to take either end up in north allerton or Leeds but due to shit traffic on the motorways I ended up here, fortunate for me as this was a wonderful trip into history, it’s only a small place but I spent nearly two hours here. Then went home. 2 1/2 hours to get here. 2hrs back. A good days work.

Hidden deep in the trees an ancient old farm and outbuildings; and look a selection of comfy chairs set up ready for the tour bus If the cretins ever find it’s location.

Let’s do the out buildings first

The old guys coat still left hanging on a nail on the back of a door, there were a few dead things lying around; here is the most photogenic "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up." as Gloria Swanson would say

Let’s go inside for the best bits. The place was a total mess, debris everywhere, just general detritus of lives once lived.

Down to the basement, nothing there really and my headlamp was fading I could have missed things

On the ground floor some evidence that the local kids must have been in, kids with very strange sexual fantasies

A few static pieces about, including the infamous kids chemistry set widely purchased as toys back in the 60’s, where is ‘elf n safety when you need them.

It’s an enigma, a 2014 calendar lying on the floor, that’s only 6 yrs ago, I’ve seen better places that have been empty 10 times longer than that.

Upstairs was no better but throughout the house, after rummaging through the mess I was able to satisfy my craving for treasure.

I spent a good hour just browsing and reading, happier times? When kids read comics, and didn’t waste their lives on tic fucking toc and following “influencers’.

When grown ups got their news from an independent press, instead of 24hr rolling news, forced upon them by the puppet masters and their agendas.

And finally, “food glorious food”, you can’t even get a fillet steak at Lidl at that price, let alone chargrilled with all the trimmings. I’m now by this point getting hungry, I’m off to find a greasy spoon
