I would ask for a cover with kitties if I were you 😜
Wow, that was quite a thing you had to go through, but all in all it was quick - from the annual medical check-up, decision and surgery. And complications - well, that part was not quick haha, sitting in the waiting room for endless hours. It is good it finished well in the end. I didn't remember the feeling of falling asleep from the total anaesthesia, but I can't forget the feeling of waking up from it. It was very uncomfortable - I was shaking, and I wished I would not go through this feeling ever again.
I hope you will fully enjoy the concert of your granddaughter 🎹🎶
That is something I am definitely not looking for thank you very much!
Thank you for your support and understanding, I guess anaesthesia affects people in different ways, at least we have both lived to tell the tale. AND listen to concerts Yeeee Haaaw
Are we going to see you on telly soon shilling about your new bionic hearing aid? And we should get you a Hive cover for your first Hive meet up when you get round to it.
I don't think so think it was only for their internal training sessions, though I did have to sign a waiver to allow it to be used, should have charged a fee LOL.
Yes someone else suggested a hive cover, I need to investigate.
Seriously? I am told by my family that it is 100% better, but it depends on the setting tbh. Still struggle in noisy restaurants, but it will get there. I am just happy to be able to engage in conversation.
Hopefully there will be a hive meet up soon that I am free to visit, really looking forward to it.
Cheers @captaindingus thanks for dropping in, thanks for enjoying, the idea of a hive logo never crossed my mind, what a brilliant idea, I need to investigate further.
That I guess is the problem of you youngsters and your ear buds!!
@slobberchops - if you'd like to verify this or perhaps anyone else on Hive who reads this.
I realize this can definitely seem like a scam but it is genuine as am I - it's also really easy to do if you want to do it yourself...
Off and On may be high tech for you... but I suspect Copy + Paste may be in your wheelhouse if you'd like to give it a go as well... (it's ridiculously easy)
That's it. You're done. It's free. Takes 10 seconds to do it yourself and then anyone with a phone can simply scan that lil pic and BOOM - they are asked if they'd like to visit your Blog on the web 😃
Haha, trust you to ask for coffins and gravestones!
A story with a good ending, that's wonderful @grindle, I can imagine the wonder of your hearing improving, and being a celeb!
But how traumatic when the bleeding started, and then the long wait.
I've had a hearing problem in one ear for many years, so tend to lip read, but it doesn't work when there's background noise. Trying to decide where to go for hearing aids.
I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy your granddaughter's performance. That will be the cherry on the cake!
Oh dear, I forgot to switch user, this is @lizelle talking, hope you recognized my voice😉
Cheers @lizelle , thank you for reading, I lip read for years, it did help the hearing aids, and words from the wise, do not delay, get those ears sorted!!!
Weird, but ya know what? I recognised your style of writing. xx
A celeb, LOL that'll do for my claim to fame, and you will be the first to know if the gravestones ever arrive,,,,, don't hod your breath

Great to hear someone actually benefited from that Investors in People initiative. Companies were quick enough to say oh we're proud to be Investors in People, but I never really met that many people you were invested in!
I am a Chemical Engineer and worked on enough chemical plants, oil refineries and oil platforms to know what noise is. But I was able to piss off back to my office often enough so as not to have been affected by hearing loss.
My wife suffers from hearing problems so I know which ear to be on to make myself heard!
my fellow travellers thought that I was aloof, as I seemed to only speak to them or reply to them, when I felt like it.
Welcome to the aloof club. I have ankylosing spondylitis, a shitty rheumatoid arthritis and have had since I was 12. It meant I did not move head to look at you, rather I learnt to have fucking awesome peripheral vision so I could see you. But because I was not looking directly at someone with my body, I was called an aloof cnut! If you were important enough then I would turn my upper torso.
Mr G the groundbreaker being the first in the UK to get that kit and procedure! Great to hear you can now hear and touch wood you will hear your granddaughter and be gobsmacked at what you missed! And yeah vanity, ha once we don't give a fuck then that goes out the window too.
Thing is with noise, you get used to it, it just seems normal, then you is fucked! Good to meet another member of the aloof club LOL, but what you have sounds fucking scary, unless you got the torso turn!
Listened to Lou Reed yesterday, "walk on the wild side" fuck me that was awesome, have not heard it like that in years, nor Golden Earring radar Love, thought this is how it should be! Threw in the chain for good luck yup...... Tubular bells fucked me right back to square one again!
Ah welly man LOL, well I was towering over him about 2 ft away and aids did help. but as it is progressive it gets worse as you get older, even avoiding noise, once the damage is done. With no back ground noise it was ok otherwise truly fucked.
Background noise, I know all about that. It's a pain in the arse at work, whereas outside I get less problems. So you explore with those things in your ears?
I refuse to wear them much to the annoyance of my family.
I would ask for a cover with kitties if I were you 😜

Have a great week ahead
That's it.., you work at Kwiksave and are doomed to a life of deafness. It all fits. I want one now.
LOL, Kwickies has a lot to answer for

Hell of a story grindle!
Reminds me of my Grandfather :)
You should get a cover with the Hive Logo on it 😁
I am sure I'll face similar issues at some point... self induced through frequent overly loud music enjoyment 😅
Cheers and thanks for the wonderful read!
Cheers @captaindingus thanks for dropping in, thanks for enjoying, the idea of a hive logo never crossed my mind, what a brilliant idea, I need to investigate further.

If you need a QR code for your site, it's useful I guess.
He could put it on the Cochlear Implant piece that looks like, O
People would ask why he had a QR code on his head...
He could tell them...
They'd find his Hive Blog...
It would be VERY unique.
I like unique - like my Scarred Llama Mage and Kron tattoos... I know I am the only one who has them :)
LOL.. @grindle my have some words about that, unique yes.., go for it.. hmmm... 😃..
Cheers matey, That is clever, but as I do not post anywhere other than on here, it probably wouldn't do anything for me or attract people to the Hive?
From that perspective, perhaps not?
However, from another perspective - your content is pretty fascinating and while it may not do anything for you or Hive directly...
It may do something for those you meet in your travels an opportunity for them to see firsthand places and adventures they never would otherwise.
You have a great writing style and your photography is fantastic as well - that's worth sharing :)
Cheers I appreciate your positive vibes and kind words, I may see if there is any interest on my next journey,
Haha, trust you to ask for coffins and gravestones!

I didn't know your hearing was so bad. How did you have a conversation with WellyMan when he caught you? Was it full, of.. 'what', 'eh'... etc?
I get this now as my hearing is gradually going. Life without music would be awful. I have to turn it up louder.
Ah welly man LOL, well I was towering over him about 2 ft away and aids did help. but as it is progressive it gets worse as you get older, even avoiding noise, once the damage is done. With no back ground noise it was ok otherwise truly fucked.
Thing is turning it up exacerbates the problem!!!
Background noise, I know all about that. It's a pain in the arse at work, whereas outside I get less problems. So you explore with those things in your ears?
I refuse to wear them much to the annoyance of my family.
Yup, and it makes exploring more exciting, as I can now hear the creaking and other WTF noises that I was oblivious to before LOL

Sheez, beat us starting the bionic man sequel, vanity always gains traction. New covers sounds a good laugh, has to have a ditty....
Great you can hear now, added bonus!
Yup always good to get a bonus Joan LOL.
