Over the last few months while the weather was still cool and nothing growing outside I decided I wanted to try and keep some indoor plants.

I’ve been at work on the garden prepping it, cleaning it out and prepping the soil. The half year's compost on the garden beds has made the soil rich in nutrients that will now go back into the crop yield I grow here. One of the biggest changes to the soil has been the “waste” from the chickens which produces a rich amount of nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus and calcium.

I also started seeds! Starting seeds indoors or in a greenhouse are a great way to extend the growing season and improve your crops yield for the year. By getting seedlings started early to be transplanted to the garden later can add on a month or more to your growing season.

I created an Ultimate Spring Seed Starting Guide which you can read on my own personal blog as well When to pot up seedlings which is another important step to the growing and transplanting process.

Everything this year has been going great with the garden. The new bees are in, the gardens are just about ready for the seedlings, the new trees are being planted and the indoor plants are giving off great vibes!
