RE: MY FAVOURITE SUBJECT: BIOLOGY AND AGRICULTURE

Kind of wondering lately: what got you all into biology or agriculture in the first place? For me it started when I tried growing tomatoes on my grandma’s balcony. Half of them wilted, the other half tasted incredible, and I’ve been curious ever since. Now I’m trying to understand soil types better but still feel lost. How did you figure out where to start?

Funny you mention soil - my first real lesson came from messing up an entire patch of peppers because I didn’t realize the ground behind my house stayed soggy after every rain. I ended up diving into guides and even used https://textero.io/literature-review-tool to sort through research papers so I could understand drainage and nutrient balance without getting overwhelmed. What helped most was running tiny experiments: planting the same crop in different spots, tracking sunlight, checking how fast the soil dried. Maybe try a small setup like that with your tomatoes again. It makes the whole process way easier to grasp and kind of fun, especially when you see how tiny changes in soil mix or watering can completely shift the results.
