Can $HIVE be my Retirement Pension Plan?

Hey All,

If we are working for an private organization then currently there is no funds associated to a retirement plan at least here in India. Earlier government employees used to have a pension plan but then this was abolished where the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in India was abolished as a part of pension reforms. For individuals who were in the government sector jobs before 1 January 2004, the government used to pay a pension to them after retirement. But now there is no such pension plan and people need to think of their retirement plan themselves - which I feel is a very BIG Deal to take care off. A life without a pension plan when you retire can be a nightmare as you would have all the bills and expenses to pay and on other other side the regular sources of income would have been stopped. So what should we do in such circumstances when our currently employer does not provide us with a pension plan?

Is $HIVE our Answer to Retirement Pension Plan...

If you see from the image above it clearly depicts - what a retirement plan needs to take care off - Your medical, insurance and other miscellaneous expenses that could be like travel, social obligations, support to close family and friends and a hell of expenses its just endless. This definitely calls out for a well executed Retirement Pension Plan - which is available to you at your dispersal at any point in time and is also growing side by side as well. Don't you think $HIVE well suites all our need of a retirement corpus that is build first and is then leveraged as needed - cases by case purpose.

HIVE As my Retirement Pension Plan...

I'll now specially talk about - how I am going to leverage $HIVE as my retirement pension plan. Right now focus is just to BUILD & HODL every $HIVE being earned may it be via the curation or the author rewards. The same is being reflected in my HIVE wallet - where I have close to 66K+ $HIVE as staked, some of it is delegated and close to 900+ in HDB in saving which is giving out 20% APR. The plan ahead is to continue to grow my $HIVE account and not touch any of these savings until and unless at all required. Down the lane fast forward 5+ Years a huge corpus would have been accumulated, if I don't touch any of my earnings and let it grow. I assume if by then $HIVE is around lets say $2+, I guess this should be enough for me to earn via the curation and that should be it a $HIVE fund that acts as my pension plan and fulfills/caters to all my needs without having to worry about anything. And cherry on cake would be the surplus earning via all the $HBD in the saving fund... Lets see what the future HODL for $HIVE and whether all this that I have thought about HIVE as my pension plan will work out or not..Anyways, I am very much optimistic about it.. cheers

Have your Say on Can HIVE work as a Retirement Plan???

What do you think is it a good option to consider $HIVE as a retirement plan? HIVE for me is like building a corpus of fund and then leverage it at a later point in time - maybe at the time of retirement - who knows what else? Let me know your views in the comment section below... cheers

This sounds like a plan and I agree that hive can be so valuable in the long run. You have a nice stake in HP and I am also trying to build it slowly. $2 hive seems easily possible in the next few years I believe.

Yes, Hive can be your retirement account. But you must be diligent in creating and curating content and engaging with others' content. Earn, stake, and save. That's a good long-term plan.
