EPFO - Employees' Provident Fund Organisation - INDIA - Withdraw PF CASH with UPI ATM

Hey All,

Lets first start with a small introduction about EPFO which stands for (Employees' Provident Fund Organization) its a statutory body under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. This organization was formed in 1952 to manage Employees' Provident Fund one can also say that its basically a retirement benefits scheme for employees working in the organized sector. Normally the employer is supposed to match the similar amount of money that an employee decides to park in EPFO on a monthly basis. We can say the amount here is also part of the CTC [Cost to the company]. The EPFO is also the largest social security organizations in the world in terms of the number of members and the volume of financial transactions undertaken. This move to make the introduction of UPI-based ATMs is expected to go LIVE by sometime in 2025. I see numerous benefits here and some of them are and is not limited to ones listed here.

Key Features of the PF Withdrawal via UPI ATM

  • Hassle free-experience no need to wait in queues at EPFO office
  • Paperless transactions, go to the UPI ATM and get the transactions done
  • Faster Transactions, since everything will be easily accessible via ATM
  • Elimination of brokers
  • Less chances of transactions rejections, whereas with paper work the chances are higher
  • Improved Accessibility as UPI ATM will be more accessible and hence eliminating the need to go to EPFO office

In all I think this is the best step taken forward by the government and as a result we would see a simpler process of accessing and managing our provident funds at ease without much hassle. This marks a major milestone in India’s journey towards digitalization hence a welcome move here. Here is a quick FAQ guide that should provide more information and I think is very helpful
