India is a democracy country and the media play A very important role in any democracy as they are known as the "Third Pillar of Democracy". The media act as a bridge bwteen the government and the people of the country and also act as guardian of the public interest. Media is important as it is a tool which play a vital role which provide the information, transparency, accountability. Providing the information to the citizens of country is the first and primary function of the media in any democratic society. Media has various platforms like newspaper, radio, television, online channels etc. Those mediums are the primary source of information for public and the opinion of those mediums on different matters like politics, economics, culture and social issues play a very crucial role and influence their readers in many ways.

In my opinion the now day the media are the puppets of the political parties and the rich peoples as in present days the main moto of the media is making money rater then providing the true information. I have witnessed many incidents where the media misguided or present the news in molded ways. Many times they present some other issue and make it big breaking news to divert the attention of nation form some other critical issues. This is the common trick now days which is very efficient and serve as per their purpose very effectively.
Almost three years ago the former form different parts of India were joined their hand against the three former bills. The formers was against the laws and demanding for the guarantee minimum prices for their crops. That was the time when I realized that the media is what we thinks it is puppet in the hand of the government.
I am not taking side of any party or not here to defend the farmers, but I am writing what I feel that time. The media must present the truth and facts. You can not justified any act just by publishinning it on TV again and again. This is the right of both the parties to present their view in front of the public so that the public get a chance to understand their view points before making any decision and this is the responsibility of the media to taking care of same. But in this case what happened was the one side game. No national media channel presented the view point of the farmers and what was telecasted on all national channels was what the government wants. Thanks to some local channels which were covering the other side of the story. Some independent YouTube channels were also providing the live streaming of the protest and you will be surprised to know that the thousands formers along with kids and ladies were protesting against the government and three laws for more then one year, its worth to mentioned that the people with their families were on roads for more then year time.

The media as I mentioned is Third Pillar of Democracy but the money minded people burry the main moto of media and use it as medium which misguide and influence the audience. In conclusion, then media is a vital asset for democracy when it operates independently and serves the public interest.
