Crypto talks from the sea: The promising blochchain that continues around: Metal Blockchain.

  I think every year I give some updates about the current state of a blockchain that not many people talk about. I have always associated a good crypto investment, the one focusing on solving banking problems, which for me are payments and self-growing. When I joined Hive back at the end of 2021, I had already met a blockchain that I presented in Hive a couple of times. It is called Proton blockchain. The token Proton (XPR) was the main token of the blockchain for some time, but now it changed a bit. They still use their renewed wallet called Webauth.

  My last post from March 2023. Showed some changes to the blockchain. The blockchain is owned by a company called Metallicus, and the coin XPR is Proof-of-Stake (POS) and anyone can run validator nodes of the blockchain. XPR started to lose some value during the bear market, and started to get some zeros. In that post from March I mentioned that the ecosystem gained another coin called Metal (METAL). It is a bit confusing because they had a "Metal" coin before (MTL), which you can find in Binance for example through the Ethereum Network. To solve a bit this problem they changed the name of MTL to Metal Dao, and now it is their governance coin. And the new Metal now started to have its own blockchain, and they just announced the possibility of expanding a 2nd layer of the blockchain. Metal is also POS and decentralized. Anyone can be a validator of the blockchain, by just going to their GitHub page. There is a minimum of staking 2,000 Metal to become a validator, more information you can see in this guide . The APR of Metal stacking is around 10 to 12% depending on the amount of time that you delegate (between 14 days or 1 year).

  Another interesting attribute of the blockchain is having their backed-to-USD token called XMD. That is the main token used in their market to trade. They have pairs between XMD/XPR, XMD/METAL, XMD/MTL and XMD/LOAN. As I mentioned in my last post, LOAN is the token used in their token borrowing system. In addition, they added also other tokens that can be traded with XMD, such as BTC, ETH, HBAR, LTC and XRP. The addition of XRP and LTC pairs is recent and they are important to bring tokens bought somewhere else. This trading market is located in their former proton swap app, which is now rebranded as MetalX. So getting crypto in their blockchain is easy, there is a bridge for all the tokens cited, so you can transfer BTC or ETH, but then be careful with the network fees, or now you can use LTC or even XRP to fund your wallet there and start trading and exploring the DeFi options.

  Like I mentioned exactly one year ago, the Liquidity Pools farms were very interesting with APRs above 80% or 90%. The Pair XMD/METAL was around 89%. Since the end of the year this APR reduced a lot getting closer to 20%. This made me think about switching to a more stable investment that had a similar APR which is HBD savings. However, it got back now for something around 35%. Is METAL a very volatile coin like XPR? I questioned many times since I saw fluctuations between $0.07 and $0.05 many times during the bear market. But now with the BTC highs we've got above $0.10 and it is maintaining around there like most of the tokens. So the token is not dumping, when loses some value it recovers a bit after. That makes them a good candidate to be used in the liquidity pool. I started to invest with just some dusts, but now I have a nice amount of money invested there. I recommend those who like liquidity pools.

  I am not sure if Metal will have some value in the future, there was a bit of excitement when some sources said that Fednow was making agreements with Metalicus around last Summer, but in my point of view it was a bit of speculations, I didn't see anything later. But for sure it has great potential with its DeFi. And now I am enjoying a bit of the good crypto moment in there after some uncertainties.

  Eu acho que todo ano eu dou algumas atualizações sobre o estado atual de uma blockchain sobre a qual poucas pessoas falam. Sempre associei um bom investimento em criptomoedas àquele que se concentra em resolver problemas bancários, que para mim são pagamentos e autossustentabilidade. Quando me juntei ao Hive no final de 2021, eu já tinha conhecido uma blockchain que apresentei no Hive algumas vezes. Ela se chama blockchain Proton. O token Proton (XPR) foi o principal token da blockchain por algum tempo, mas agora mudou um pouco. Eles ainda usam sua carteira renovada chamada Webauth.

  Meu último post de março de 2023 mostrou algumas mudanças na blockchain. A blockchain é de propriedade de uma empresa chamada Metallicus, e a moeda XPR é Proof-of-Stake (POS) e qualquer pessoa pode executar nós validadores da blockchain. XPR começou a perder algum valor durante o mercado em baixa e começou a obter alguns zeros. Naquele post de março, mencionei que o ecossistema ganhou outra moeda chamada Metal (METAL). É um pouco confuso porque eles tinham uma moeda "Metal" antes (MTL), que você pode encontrar na Binance, por exemplo, através da rede Ethereum. Para resolver um pouco esse problema, eles mudaram o nome de MTL para Metal Dao, e agora é a moeda de governança deles. E o novo Metal agora começou a ter sua própria blockchain, e eles acabaram de anunciar a possibilidade de expandir uma 2ª camada da blockchain. Metal também é POS e descentralizado. Qualquer pessoa pode ser um validador da blockchain, apenas acessando sua página no GitHub.   Outro atributo interessante da blockchain é ter seu token vinculado ao USD chamado XMD. Esse é o principal token usado em seu mercado para negociação. Eles têm pares entre XMD/XPR, XMD/METAL, XMD/MTL e XMD/LOAN. Como mencionei em meu último post, LOAN é o token usado em seu sistema de empréstimo de tokens. Além disso, eles adicionaram também outros tokens que podem ser negociados com XMD, como BTC, ETH, HBAR, LTC e XRP. A adição dos pares XRP e LTC é recente e eles são importantes para trazer tokens comprados em outros lugares. Este mercado de negociação está localizado em seu antigo aplicativo de troca de prótons, que agora é renomeado como MetalX. Portanto, conseguir criptomoedas em sua blockchain é fácil, há uma ponte para todos os tokens mencionados, para que você possa transferir BTC ou ETH, mas então tenha cuidado com as taxas da rede, ou agora você pode usar LTC ou até XRP para financiar sua carteira lá e começar a negociar e explorar as opções DeFi.

  Como mencionei exatamente um ano atrás, as fazendas de Pools de Liquidez eram muito interessantes com APRs acima de 80% ou 90%. O Par XMD/METAL estava em torno de 89%.   Não tenho certeza se o Metal terá algum valor no futuro, houve um pouco de empolgação quando algumas fontes disseram que o Fednow estava fazendo acordos com a Metalicus por volta do último verão, mas na minha opinião foi um pouco de especulação, não vi nada depois. Mas com certeza tem um grande potencial com seu DeFi. E agora estou aproveitando um pouco do bom momento das criptomoedas lá depois de algumas incertezas.
