Prologue

Hello, my name is Kurt! I am married to a beautiful wife called Elizabeth and I live with my two beautiful daughters, one 5 years old called Rahel and one 1-year-old called Dora. We live in Germany and every day we get surprised by our life and our children growing up. Our city is called Karlsruhe and it is located in the North of the Black Forest. We are a Jewish family, but to be a Jew in this part of Germany is totally different from the Eastern community located in Poland for example. While in Poland Jews are closed in small communities called Shtetls, very orthodox following the religion by each letter written in the old manuscripts, we here in western Germany in 1920 are trying to live a life very similar to any other German citizen. We share neighborhoods and workplaces with them.
We think that modern times arrived and we can’t live for religion anymore, religion is to be used as a spiritual tool and it needs to be adapted for our current life. In our mind, the current orthodox point of view is adapted for a point of an old, very old time point of view so there is a need for a new reform in the religion.
I am a lawyer here in the city and my wife works at the university, we try to grow our kids with an overall vision of the world, which is big and they need to understand what is happening around them. For that reason, we try to read a lot to them about things that they could feel and face in the future. Including social changes and how to deal with different sources of prejudice against them and also other humans that deserve the same respect as us.

A little bit about

It is my first product for scholar and scribe I hope that everyone enjoys it. I intend to write some chapters for this product soon!
