INKTOBER #10 HOPE
Hope, a rather complex concept, how could it be defined? as the faith that what you desire will be fulfilled? or perhaps it is the optimistic mood before the future? almost any definition suggests that hope is to see your desires grow before you, that your expectations are achieved and that you can wait confidently.
That's why on the late 10th day of Inktober I tried to illustrate in a simple way this complex concept, introducing you to a hopeful fairy who hopes with great longing to reforest her forest, hydrating her plants and coping with drought.
Materials:
- Opaline Cardboard (A4)
- HB Graphite Pencil
- Black Ballpoint Pen
- Black marker, fine tip
-Sketch:
With soft strokes, try to fit the fairy into the pose you had in mind, using the HB pencil for that.
-Outline:
Then, delineate the entire silhouette of the character, trying to make fluid strokes and avoiding making mistakes.Well, if there was a little mistake on the fairy's face and the water sprinkler I didn't like it very much.
-Ink filling
The dry trees obviously had to be black, so I used the black marker to fill in their figure completely, plus in their eyes I also added black, although I wanted to erase the graphite earlier and there was no chance that the ink would dry completely, I almost made a mess and ruined the drawing.
-Final Touches:
The latest modifications included my beloved pointillism, which I used to give a little more detail to the fairy's dress, pointillism gives a beautiful touch to any illustration.<3
I'll leave you a little gif with the whole process in it, so you can better appreciate the step by step.
¿What is Inktober??
The Inktober is an initiative created by illustrator Jake Parker in 2009, with the aim of improving his artistic skills, but over the years has had a great impact on the international art community. The challenge is to make an ink drawing every day, hence its name, "ink" "tober" (October), although for the most part this is respected, many other artists prefer to stay in their comfort zone, so you can see illustrations made with watercolors, graphite, charcoal, digital and any existing technique.
