The delicious cake with the love of central Vietnam
Hello everyone, today I will introduce to you about delicious, unique and strange cakes in Vietnam. It's called Gai cake.
In addition to the strange color, Gai cake also attracts people to eat by the sweetness of the cake and the fleshy taste of the green bean and coconut filling. The way to make the cake is commented by many people as easy to make. However, for me personally, I feel quite picky and require high proficiency.
How to make cake
We'll start with the pie crust. Gai cake shell is made from ground glutinous rice flour with prickly leaves. This mixture produces a deep green color. When I cook it, it turns black. It creates a strange feeling for those who taste it for the first time.
When I first tasted it, I was hesitant to eat it because of the color of the cake. However, when eating and then really taste different from what I thought and very hard to forget.
The filling is yellow in color of seeded green beans, steamed and pureed with sugar to create a perfect mixture that goes well with the crust.
After putting the filling into the crust, the baker will shape the cake according to their preferences. The cake can be round, square or flat depending on the request of the person ordering the cake or the baker himself.
Cake will be learned in banana leaf class to bring to cook. The use of this leaf not only preserves the delicious taste of the cake, but also makes the cooking process easier. Besides banana leaves, we can also use leaves that can keep steam for easy cooking.
After the cake is finished, it will be steamed or boiled at a suitable temperature. After the cake is cooked, it will be taken out to drain. With such seemingly simple steps, we have got a delicious batch of cakes with the smell of pandan leaves and green beans.
This type of cake is usually eaten every day, but in some regions of the fbawsc region, people use it in banquets and parties to treat guests. The food, though tedious, is delicious and enjoyed by people of all ages.
I hope that you can have a chance to come and enjoy this cake.
