Why AI Videos Still Need Human Editors
With this boom in AI content, editors are finally having their moment, and honestly, they should. Everyone assumed AI would replace them, but it is turning out to be the opposite.

The irony is that AI generated video parts are often easy to spot. Platforms and viewers alike can tell when something is AI made, and that alone becomes a problem, because AI videos are often not monetized properly. This is exactly why editors matter more now, not less. A skilled editor can take raw AI output and shape it into something that does not scream "made by AI," which protects both the creator's earnings and their credibility.
But getting a truly polished video out of AI is not cheap or effortless. You end up needing a lot more credits and resources because, in a sense, you are competing with world class editors, or trying to build a story where even the smallest mishap gives away that it is AI made. One awkward frame, one odd transition, and the illusion breaks.
And even when the final result is technically fine, there is still a perception problem. To the average viewer, AI videos often feel low effort by default, even when they are not. So the appreciation for the creator's work just is not the same as it would be for something clearly handcrafted. Long term, it is hard to say how this plays out. Will audiences adjust their expectations, or will that stigma stick around?
What is clear is that editors have always been the ones turning plain text and simple images into a real story. AI is just the next tool they needed to fully own that role. On top of that, AI has taken over a lot of the repetitive, thankless tasks editors used to grind through, things like subtitles and other routine work, freeing them up to focus on the parts that actually require a human eye.
So maybe the real story here is not that AI is replacing editors. It is that AI finally gave them the tool they had been waiting for.
