A short time ago I did a test with some tobacco seeds that a friend gave me as a gift. I planted them and harvested the leaves to make some tobacco mince. The test went well, you can see it here and here. Smoked, the tobacco is milder tasting than what I usually use. I don't smoke plain tobacco. I only smoke tobacco mixed with weed or hash and I liked this tobacco better than some of the ones I've bought at the tobacconist. I was thinking of planting more tobacco this spring because it is a plant that does not attract pests and is easy to grow. So easy that even in winter and with very little direct sunlight some seeds germinated that I must have dropped last summer.

I had planted tobacco before but without the intention of consuming it. The plant is very beautiful and so are the flowers. The bees, I could see, really like the nectar from the tobacco flowers. I think tobacco is going to be another permanent plant on the terrace.

I also harvested two small cannabis plants that were already mature. They are winter buds with a lot of leaf and air but they will be useful to make some hashish and oil. The trichomes were white and some cinnamon, very few. I could have waited longer, but I need to harvest the remaining ones to thoroughly clean the terrace before starting the new season. Tomorrow I will cut a couple more of them.
