A Guide on How to Set Up Your Keplr Wallet

I'm quite sure most of you should definitely be familiar with the Cosmos blockchain and it's ecosystem. This implies that the crypto project shouldn't strange to you because Cosmos is also perceived to be amongst the top fastest growing crypto project with increasing ecosystem. We all know Cosmos to be an ever-expanding ecosystem of interconnected apps and services, built for a decentralized future and this is why it is called "The Internet of Blockchains".

In my previous post about about exploring the Cosmos Ecosystem i made a concise review about the Juno Blockchain developed on the CosmWasm and I also made a promise about sharing a tutorial which has to do with the supported wallets on the Cosmos Blockchain as quoted below;

As a man of integrity and value, I will be fulfilling this promise today and I definitely hope this post will guide you in setting up supported wallets such as Keplr wallet on the Cosmos Blockchain. Without wasting much time, let's get down to business 😀.

Brief Review on Keplr Wallet

The Cosmos blockchain is created such that the Cosmos apps and services connect using Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol. This innovation enables you to freely exchange assets and data across different decentralized Blockchains in the crypto space.

Keplr wallet serves as an Interchain gateway which enables you to manage your assets, engage in staking and get rewarded. The wallet also gives you secure authorisation to third party decentralized applications (Dapps) in the Cosmos blockchain and users also have access to take part in Governance voting.

With Keplr wallet, users are also able to engage in Inter Blockchain Communication (IBC) transfer by sending their tokens over IBC and the most important aspect is that tokens are well secured in Keplr Wallet.

It's also great to see Loop Finance being part of the Juno Blockchain and the good news is that the platform will also be adopting Keplr Wallet when it comes to engaging in IBC transfer or transactions in the Cosmos Blockchain. It is also advisable the Loop community members set up their wallet before the Loop incoming airdrop which is meant to happen soon.

Setting Up Keplr Wallet on Mobile

• The first step is to visit Keplr website via https://www.keplr.app/

• Download the one compatible to your device by selecting the android version if you're using an android phone or you select the IOS version if you're using an IPhone.

• You'll be redirected to the required App store either Google playstore (for Android) or Apple Store (for IPhone) depending on your device brand.

• After downloading and installing the App, you are meant to open the app and then click on create mnemonic as shown in the below image

• The App automatically helps you generate your unique mnemonic phrase which serves as a key to your Keplr wallet. Ensure you store these 12 generated mnemonic phrase in a secured place.

• After storing your mnemonic phrase, you are meant to enter your wallet username and create your password to keep your wallet more secured.

I guess you can see that my Keplr wallet is almost set!! I recommend turning on biometric access with Keplr wallet as this will enable you to log into your Keplr wallet easily with your thumbprint.

My Keplr wallet has already been created easily which implies that I can now send, receive stake, vote and engage in other activities in the CosmWasm.

Another cool feature about Keplr wallet is that you can also make use of Keplr wallet extension on both your mobile phone browser and PC browser.

Installing Keplr Wallet Extension on Your Browser

You can also install the Keplr wallet extension on both your mobile browser and PC. I suggest you make use of supported Web browsers like Google chrome, Kiwi browser, Yandex browser for mobile browser which supports adding extension links from Google Chrome Web store. Follow the below steps to achieve this;

• Paste the Keplr Wallet extension link below on your browser

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/keplr/dmkamcknogkgcdfhhbddcghachkejeap?hl=en

• Click on the add to Chrome button as shown in above image

• Confirm by clicking on "OK" button to authorize Keplr wallet on your browser

• I already have Keplr wallet extension automatically added to my browser as shown in the above image.

The next step is to import my wallet since I already have my account created Keplr. This can be done by following the below steps;

• If you don't have any account or wallet on Keplr, you can make use of the create new account button. If you already have your wallet/account on Keplr, then you can click on "import existing account" as shown in the above image.

• You are meant to input your mnemonic phrase, your wallet username and lastly your password to access your account as shown in the above screenshot.

• This shows my account has been successfully imported into my browser extension which shows I'm good to go

• As you can see my wallet has been successfully imported into my Browser extension which shows i can now access Keplr wallet with my browser.
