Hello Everyone!!! I hope you are having a great time over there? It's really nice seeing you visit my blog today and I must say I'm really happy to have a great personality like you visiting my blog 😊. Thank you once again 💕

Where Should I Start From?🤔

I actually don't know where to start my write up from probably because I'm excited to be back on the Internet after some specific period of time. Just like I always tell people, the Internet has always been my second home such that I really can't do without utilizing the Internet most especially when it comes to creating contents on my blogs. I also use this medium to appreciate those who took their time to check up on me through my social media links such as telegram, Discod and WhatsApp.

Well, I know most of you might have been different kind of questions coming up on your mind as regards to the reason behind my absence or short term leave. I really don't know where to start from but prior to the promise I made to some of my followers, I will definitely be spilling some of these reasons here. So I guess I just have to start from anywhere then or let me simply start from Brief Review About NYSC since this was actually how it all began.

NYSC BRIEF REVIEW

There's actually a reserved program meant for every graduate across all higher institutions in Nigeria and this program is known as National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). The goal of this program is to enable graduates develop their experience, skills and impacting the community they found themselves positively for nation development. This is also in accordance with the statement made on NYSC website

The NYSC scheme was created in a bid to reconstruct, reconcile and rebuild the country after the Nigerian Civil war. The unfortunate antecedents in our national history gave impetus to the establishment of the National Youth Service Corps by decree No.24 of 22nd May 1973 which stated that the NYSC is being established "with a view to the proper encouragement and development of common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity".

Every Nigerian graduate is meant to serve his or her country for a twelve months (one year) and this is done by making graduates spend their first three weeks in their allocated Camps for swearing in programs and they are also orientated by various camp leaders about this imperative program.

Once you are eligible to go for your service, you will be automatically be notified and you will be requested to print out your call up letter. The call up letter contains the required certified information of the corper and the well detailed direction of where you've been posted to serve.

IMG_20220915_194929.jpgThat's my callup letter😊

I could remember playing video game with my friends at home when I got a pop up notification from my email account that I have been scheduled to go for Camp as you can see in the screenshot. I was a bit happy and at the same time I was also sad leaving my family and loved ones behind but I just had to summon the courage since it's just gonna be for three weeks. Little did I know that my three weeks in camps would actually turn out to be something else I never imagined due to the Camp Daily Routine😔.

The Camp Daily Routine Was Really Something Else

As a corp member camping in a new state, there are some required measures meant to be taken by every Corp members and this has actually become a daily routine for almost everyone of us.

images - 2022-09-15T210014.846.jpeg

The first thing we do whenever we wake up early in the morning (5:00AM) is to take our bath, brush our teeth, dress up and pray until (5:30AM) before being gathered for morning assembly. The morning assembly is meant to pass information across by the Camp officials to every Corp member and staffs in the Camp.

images - 2022-09-15T210232.933.jpeg

After standing for several minutes, we are meant to all go for morning exercise which used to be fun. All we do is to jog around the surroundings, do same body stretch and engage in other exercises depending on your Platoon gym instructor and all this morning activities do end around 7:45AM - 8:30AM.

After exercising, we are meant to go back to our room and get ready for breakfast within the next 10 mins. This is when you see some Corp members washing their plates and running very fast to the kitchen with their meal ticket just to get food.

images - 2022-09-15T211915.931.jpeg

The duration for eating was around 30 minutes which connotes that you should be already done with any related to feeding yourself or buying food at other local vendors within the camp premises before 9:30AM.

The Stressful Part😑

Well, I really don't know why most Corp members do see "Parade" as a stressful thing though but this is actually one of the activity I found very interesting but at the same time stressful. All Corp members are meant to be on the parade ground before 10:00AM for easy coordination and from there we all start taking part in some military instruction such as marching round the parade ground and other few military training.

During this period, some Corp members are also given the privilege to take part in other camping activities such as Man O War Drill, Martial Art, Red Cross and few other clubs.

I used to love this moment because that's one of the occasion you tend to meet more people and make new friends. The Parade ground itself has also instilled that sense of military training in me personally because I tend to look more confident like a soldier when marching such that i have this sense of feeling that i am the next American Commando 😂😀.

After going through the stress of marching and engaging in other activities on the parade ground, we'll then be given another break time to go for launch before coming back for another parade drill in the evening.

There are times i won't be interested in eating what's being served in the kitchen such that i will have to buy food from local vendors within the camp premises.

Getting Closer to the Evening

Once we are done with launch, we will be given another 20-30 mins to rest before going for our evening Drill. The evening drill do start roughly by 5:00PM and it ends around 6:30PM - 7:00PM sometimes depending on the activities. After which we will be called for Dinner before going for another activity known as Social Night which starts by 8:00PM and ends by 10PM.

IMG_20220915_210920.jpg

Social Night happens to be one of the favourite activities by most Corp members in the camp because it involves dancing, music, competitions, socializing with other Corp members and most importantly, it's just all about having fun!

How's All These Activities Affecting My Life on The Internet ?

I know most of you might have have been waiting me to spill this out since this is actually what today's content is all about. Most of you will definitely agree with me that I'm highly consistent when it comes to posting contents on my blogs probably because the Internet has been my second home. I really just can't do without writing articles or sharing contents on my blog as this has been part of me ever since I've chosen this path or career in the tech space.

images - 2022-09-15T214139.717.jpeg

It's also quite unfortunate that I couldn't even create any posts or contents during my leave and at least I should have at least posted a leave of absence content to notify everyone of you (my bad 😔) but I was highly preoccupied with the camping activities. You know those kind of stress and how busy you become when it feels like you are relocating to another entirely new state far from your permanent residence. I just had to put things in order before taking my leave.

IMG_20220915_213156.jpg

All the activities in camp never even gave me that time or access to the Internet and the worst part of it is that the camp Internet facilities isn't quite okay as expected. My Internet connection was extremely very slow such that it couldn't even load Web pages (websites) completely and at the same time i couldn't even access my blogs due to the poor network facilities and the camp daily routines or activities.

Every Disappointment is a Blessing

As they do say "every disappointment is a blessing" even though I felt uncomfortable due to the lack of Internet access, at least I was also able to educate some of my friends about cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. I'm really glad this turned out successful and this connotes that we should expect more people joining this wonderful community very soon as well 😊.

Also I was able to develop some digital skills tactics with the help of the help of some of my new friends I met in SAED (Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) group even though most Corp member do find this activity very boring. This is the exact moment you see most Corp member sleeping or doing something else just to while away time 😀.

Concluding Part

In summary and conclusion, it was really fun meeting new people and learning from other people's culture and heritage. I also use this medium to appreciate those who took their time to check up on me while I was offline for the time being. The interesting part is that I now have full access to the Internet and I'm really happy to be Back Home 😊.
