Sometimes prices might go up and within few hours the same price has drastically dropped again hence why it is called a volatile market.
Before investing if an individual doesn't have the mindset knowing the risk involved, then why prices fall it can lead to making bad decisions. There are individuals who only buy to hold long term regardless of whether prices drop where those that are not so positive minded would've hastily made panic sales thereby loosing a sizable part of their invested funds.
Positivity helps to negative emotions that might cloud your judgement. An emotionally unstable person is very likely to loose funds due to a badly strategized trading decision fuelled by emotional judgements.
