THE CRIMINALS WE NEVER TALK ABOUT

I think one of the most overlooked and not too talked about criminals are those little angels (🚩🚩) called children. Those little creatures know how to steal their way into your heart, ransack and burgle everywhere, all the while having you smile through it.

I absolutely love being around children because it sometimes eases my tensed state of mind even though sometimes they're actually the ones causing the tension.

It's ironic that you don't feel there's danger when you can hear your kids playing but not see them. It's the moment when they're in the house and you don't hear a sound from them, you know they're doing something illegal.
I once saw my cousin upside down, tied to the window by his older brother. The funny thing was that he wasn't even crying for help, he was just hanging upside down and quiet like he was a monk doing some meditation.

The thing is children know the family members that they can easily take advantage of. They know there's always that uncle, aunt or older sibling who let's them get away with anything, and those criminals make sure they milk that opportunity every chance they get.

A few weeks ago, most schools were on holiday so my niece came to visit. I was the uncle who never scolds or really feels like giving any form of punishment, so i was the uncle who got a whole lot of disturbance from the children.

Everywhere i was going to, she would tag along. If you want to know what being frustrated and happy at the same time feels like, then this was it.
I was dressing up to go to the bank when she asked to come along. Ordinarily i dread going to the bank because of the stress, now i had to deal with the stress of looking after an hyperactive kid.

We got to the bank and after standing on a long queue, i was able to withdraw some cash. We were on our way home when my niece said, i had to get her yoghurt.
I succumbed because there was no tricking her in that moment since she knew i had cash on me. Children become mathematical gurus when they're helping you spend your money.

We went to a nearby supermarket that i usually patronized and unfortunately for me the yoghurt i usually bought was finished.
There were other ones a little bit higher in price than what i usually got.
I tried to use this as justification but one glance at her face and i knew world war IV was about to happen.

As i proceeded to pay, her face changed and was all smiles. The criminal knew she had me hook, line and sinker.
I couldn't help but laugh at my predicament, even the cashier attending to me was smiling. My situation could best be described as suffering and smiling.
We got home and she proceeded to inform everyone what a great uncle i was, even though i didn't get her any snacks.

I believe it's time to take a stand and change our laws to recognize and prosecute these crimes that have long been overlooked. Let's prevent these criminals from taking advantage of us.
